Fabian

Middle name probably James.

It's a nice name. Such a shame about the political connotations, ie the Fabian Society.

Afternoonteapls · 05/07/2020 22:15

Hmm I hadn't thought of the political connections to the name. Still feel it has nice qualities in a boys name that carries well into adulthood though

It’s alright. Not the worst I’ve heard.

Merename · 05/07/2020 22:18

Ok, feels quite posh to me though.

2155User · 05/07/2020 22:18

Love. All the Fabians I know have been delightful

This. It’ll be the first thing most people think of.

How about Caspian or Damian?

MoominKitty · 05/07/2020 22:20

I really like it! I like Fabia too.

AudacityOfHope · 05/07/2020 22:20

To me it's screamingly posh and I don't know exactly how to say it.

Sunnydayshereatlast · 05/07/2020 22:21

It's Fab op!!
Grin

UsernameNotValid · 05/07/2020 22:22

I don't like it at all.

I was at school with a Fabian, he was ever so slightly overweight and went by "Flabby Fabi" for almost 6 years!

Babs709 · 05/07/2020 22:23

googles what the Fabian society is

and I’m well educated, consider myself relatively well read, so I don’t think it’s the first thing most^ people will think of

worstwitch18 · 05/07/2020 22:27

I quite like it. It does sound quite posh to me but that could be good, bad or neutral for you.

pilates · 05/07/2020 22:28

Not keen. It does sound posh.

Boireannachlaidir · 05/07/2020 22:29

@MoominKitty

I really like it! I like Fabia too.
He'd be teased about that one Grin

My first thought was the Fabian Society too.

Afternoonteapls · 05/07/2020 22:30

I would pronounce - Fabe (like Gabe) ee-un? Thanks for input so far

GrannyHaddock · 05/07/2020 22:30

It's a superior sounding name. Not quite sure about it myself.

sunlightflower · 05/07/2020 22:31

Never met one! I don't love it but don't hate it either. Had never heard of the Fabian Society.

xmummy2princesx · 05/07/2020 22:32

I like it

ChickenDrumstick · 05/07/2020 22:32

I know the Fabien Soc and it wasn’t the first thing I thought of. It’s a nice name, go for it

user187428496 · 05/07/2020 22:34

Kinda makes me picture an evil villain from a superhero story.

Fine on its own. Not sure about teaming it with James.

LovelyBranches · 05/07/2020 22:36

I love it and would have chosen it but it was vetoed by DH. It’s very very political and assumptions will be made but the name itself is beautiful and goes well with James as a middle name.

KetoWinnie · 05/07/2020 22:37

I half like it. Fabe Ian i like but not Fabbyan

Afternoonteapls · 05/07/2020 22:45

@KetoWinnie me too!!

Pomegranatemolasses · 05/07/2020 22:47

So Mumsnet! Obv the Fabian Society will be the first thing everyone thinks of Grin

Sittingontheveranda · 06/07/2020 01:40

I really like it.
