Long time lurker first time poster!
So my husband and I have a few names we like for our baby boy due next week! We just can't decide and love all the names equally!

  1. Stephen (family name)
  2. Charlie
  3. Reggie
  4. Rocco
  5. Rueben
  6. Freddy

All so different but we love them all. Please put in an order of what you think, surname is very generic (starts with an S)

Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks

Personally I'd spell it Reuben but other than that

  1. Charlie
  2. Stephen
  3. Reuben
  4. Rocco
  5. Freddy
  6. Reggie

Stephen miles above the others. So nice to see a classic name.

Mish85 · 20/06/2020 05:54

Freddie
Rocco
Rueben
Charlie
Reggie
Stephen (higher if the family link is really important, the name is nice and your connection to it will just make it more so)

MrsGilly1 · 20/06/2020 06:05

Charlie
Rueben
Freddie
Reggie
Rocco
Stephen

Kittymitty38 · 20/06/2020 06:10

Freddie
Reuben

babynamesbabyboy · 20/06/2020 06:11

@TeddyBeans sorry that's my horrendous spelling!

  1. Charlie
  2. Rocco
  3. Reuben
  4. Freddy
  5. Reggie
  6. Stephen (I just can’t imagine a little Steve just yet - it feels so 80s to my ears)
Orphlids · 20/06/2020 07:52
  1. Reuben
  2. Stephen The others are not to my taste at all, and my internal snob recoils in horror every time I hear these names. Reggie is particularly doomed to a young offenders’ institution.
Friolero · 20/06/2020 07:54
  1. Rocco
  2. Freddie
  3. Charlie
  4. Reuben
  5. Stephen
  6. Reggie

Rocco or Stephen, the others are popular and bland. If you want him to be the only one in his year group I’d pick Stephen.

daisypond · 20/06/2020 08:00

Stephen is fabulous.

Then, a loooong way next, Reuben, spelled like that.

None of the -ie names under any circumstances. Or Rocco. If you want a name that means rock, use Peter.

Ughmaybenot · 20/06/2020 08:05

Stephen or Charlie (Charles on BC).
Reggie, Rocco and Freddy are either overused or awful... or both.

userabcname · 20/06/2020 08:06

I think Charlie is the best name by far.

  1. Charlie
  2. Rocco
  3. Freddy
  4. Reuben
  5. Reggie
  6. Stephen (I know it's getting a lot of love on here but I went to school with about a million of them! If it's a family name it could work well as a middle name).
BatleyTownswomensGuild · 20/06/2020 08:13

1)Stephen (family name)
2)Freddy

Don't like any of the others.

4amWitchingHour · 20/06/2020 08:16

Stephen or Reuben. I don't especially like Stephen, but I have a bit of a thing about not liking nicknames as full names as they sound too cutesy for adults to me (and I can't imagine an adult Rocco either - would only seem to suit someone up to the age of about 25)

Standrewsschool · 20/06/2020 08:21

You don’t have to decide before he’s born. Wait until he comes along, and then see what fits.

fabulous40s · 20/06/2020 08:23

Stephen, especially if called Stevie when little! Lovely classic name due a revival

ChocolateChop · 20/06/2020 08:57

I love Rocco

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/06/2020 10:39

Stephen (family name) - lovely name and very underused atm. I think Ste is a nice nickname

CHARLIE - I know loads, in fact two babies in the past month, named Charlie and I just find it a bit meh.

Reggie - not a fan
Rocco - it seems faddy to me, though I only know 2 (both 6)

Rueben - I like it but prefer Stephen

Freddy - not a fan. I don't mind Frederick and Fred but not a fan of Freddie

5LeafPenguin · 20/06/2020 10:45

Stephen ( especially if you use Stevie as a nn).

123Dancewithme · 20/06/2020 11:03

Definitely Stephen.

Whatsyourflava · 20/06/2020 11:03

I like Rocco Charlie and Freddy best ❤️

Whatsyourflava · 20/06/2020 11:04

@Standrewsschool that's what I've done twice now. "See what fits". Yet the baby just looked like a baby to me and no names fitted. I wished I'd just chosen in advance. I know everyone's different though x

babynamesbabyboy · 20/06/2020 11:56

People keep saying Rocco is a bit chavvy.... although it's my favourite.

What does everyone think? Any personal experiences haha. I always get put off the name if I don't like a person!

Stephen Rocco or Stephen Reuben
