Hi all,

Thoughts on Willow please?

We’ve been set on this throughout... but now I need some reassurance and honest thoughts!

Thanks so much!

I think it's lovely. I don't know anyone else with the name but I had to take my son into hospital this week and the girl in the next bed was called willow and we had lots of chats and she was the loveliest girl so it's definitely a favourite of mine now, she was just the most wonderful little girl!

LOVE this name, was on our girl shortlist but we're having a boy 🤷🏼‍♀️

User1775836552 · 19/06/2020 22:21

It’s a yes from me

namechangeindiana · 19/06/2020 22:22

I'm not a fan. But that's just my honest opinion. Just makes me think of the tree. It's not awful, just not for me.

AuntieMarys · 19/06/2020 22:22

Gorgeous. I know one.

Spied · 19/06/2020 22:24

My honest opinion is that it's becoming very common popular.

Defenbaker · 19/06/2020 22:34

It's a lovely name, and conjures up a picture of a willowy, pretty girl. The downside could be if a girl called Willow ended up being overweight, perhaps she'd be in line for more teasing than otherwise, through not "fitting" her name - it's something cruel kids could jump on. So, if weight problems run in your family, for medical or any other reasons (not being judgy), maybe a name to think twice about.

Rhubardandcustard · 19/06/2020 22:34

Love the name.

happinessischocolate · 19/06/2020 22:35

Lovely, I was surprised when my brother named his daughter Willow 10 years ago but I love it now

RaininSummer · 19/06/2020 22:36

Lovely name. I do think of weeping willow but so long as she is a happy soul it will be fine

Aber9 · 19/06/2020 22:39

It’s not my type of name at all, but it’s the one that doesn’t fit my type that I love!

mondler · 19/06/2020 22:39

I love it x

Sertchgi123 · 19/06/2020 22:40

I love it for a dog!

timetest · 19/06/2020 22:41

It’s lovely.

ODFOx · 19/06/2020 22:44

Love it! I know two girls ( now teens) and two young men with this name. The lads especially are lovely folk from lovely families. Are you expecting a boy or a girl OP?
If you aren't a 90s Buffy fan it was a boys' name, like Rowan, but then it became a really popular girls' name.
Prefer it for a boy though more unusual now, but either way it's lovely!

Caramel78 · 19/06/2020 22:45

Love it

Magicbabywaves · 19/06/2020 22:45

Not keen. All these Wren, Willow, Robyn names will be pretty dated soon. Good name for a horse though.

Ludways · 19/06/2020 22:50

I don't like it but I know a couple. I'm sure people don't like my name choices, I care not one jot.

WinWinnieTheWay · 19/06/2020 22:50

I know a Willow and she is wonderful.

Littlebyerockerboo · 19/06/2020 22:54

Its my dogs name...
But I think its lovely, does conjure up a certain type of person for me, slightly hippy, tall and slender... but thats just my minds eye.

My willow is an Irish wolfhound and weighs a ton, suits her name - my point is, I'm sure if you name you're daughter willow, she will suit her name too.

Littlebyerockerboo · 19/06/2020 22:55

Woulditbeworth · 19/06/2020 22:58

It’s such a lovely name.

Quackersandcheese3 · 19/06/2020 22:58

I know some pretty cool willows ...

1300cakes · 20/06/2020 00:31

I love it but I didn't choose it for my dd (born in Feb) because of how popular it is at the moment. That doesn't really matter though, if you love it, go for it.

worstwitch18 · 20/06/2020 00:58

I wouldn't choose it myself because I always think Willow = willowy = slender and then would worry about having an overweight child with that name.
