Hi all,

Thoughts on Willow please?

We’ve been set on this throughout... but now I need some reassurance and honest thoughts!

Thanks so much!

Buffy fan? I do know a Willow actually, not keen though.

StarryGazeyEyes · 20/06/2020 01:06

Makes me think of Willow in Buffy, which I guess is when it began to get popular. I like it and would have certainly considered it if I had a girl - had boys. I would still use it as a dog name, which is no insult to it as all my dogs have 'people' names, mostly the ones I didn't get to use on children!

TippledPink · 20/06/2020 02:05

I nearly chose Willow for my Dd9, but when she was born she just didn't quite suit it so we used it for her middle name. Go for it, I don't actually know any Willows although people say it is more common than it used to be.

Willowmartha1 · 20/06/2020 02:20

My daughter is called Willow she always gets complimented on her name!!

Blursula · 20/06/2020 07:46

There seem to be so many threads on here about this name lately. I feel like it might be about to get super popular which would lose its appeal to me personally (but might not bother you). It’s nice.

MsTSwift · 20/06/2020 07:49

Awful sorry. Really don’t see the appeal. Also the risk she will be larger - there was a Willow at my school who was large and it seemed cruel. I feel the same about the name Grace - I know 3 and they are all very sturdy and not at all graceful

daisypond · 20/06/2020 07:56

I’m not keen, though, as it’s being used more and more, it’s become more normal a name now. It’s really just a cat name to me, or someone from Buffy, and I can’t shake that.

Lavenderblues · 20/06/2020 08:31

I don't like it.

LockdownLoon · 20/06/2020 08:32

Incredibly popular where I live, puts me off slightly x

mrs87 · 20/06/2020 08:54

Love it! A friend has a little girl called Willow. Everyone says it being popular but she's the only one I know in real life, or have ever met in my 32 years! Haha.

CharlieBoo · 20/06/2020 16:39

Really like it x

Flappingflamingo · 20/06/2020 16:55

Showing my age... Makes me think of the Warwick Davies film... Its a no from me but if you love it, go with it

Anappleaday1 · 20/06/2020 19:37

Love it, and I don't know any.

Ilovewillow · 20/06/2020 20:03

My daughter is a Willow, see lots of threads starting exactly what this does that it's very popular/common, what if she larger and not "willowy" etc. My Daughter is nearly 12 and the only other willow I've ever met was 24. Heard of lots of dogs/cats though. My daughter is tiny but certainly not tall or willowy. I love it and chose it because of the tree - it's bends but doesn't break which seems like a pretty good quality. I thinks it quite ethereal too.

I think it's beautiful and I don't mind that people think she's named after a Buffy character. She very cool and pretty awesome!

Duggeehugs82 · 20/06/2020 20:05

My daughter is called Darcy Willow and i love it

Coolerthanpurple · 20/06/2020 20:10

jamandtonic · 21/06/2020 22:36

CormoranStrike · 21/06/2020 22:56

I love it

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 23:20

Absolutely love Willow. One of my very favourite names.

Also like the name Willa too.

MrMenGoSwimming · 21/06/2020 23:24

I'm not a huge fan, I think it will date badly. But it's not awful.

RockinRacoon · 21/06/2020 23:44

I love the name Willow. We have friends who named their daughter after the film Willow - Elora - was the baby in the film. Love both names.

mamablondie2 · 22/06/2020 17:30

Beautiful name.
