VERITY or EMMELINE? poll

after reading A LOT OF threads and the comments in my last thread
Finally I've found two of my favourite girl names

VERITY or EMMELINE??

I love the meaning of Verity - truth
and this name looks relatively stronger than many girl names ((???? idk...

At the same time...
I love Emmeline Pankhurst! because of her contribution to feminism!
and the name sounds and looks elegant.
(by the way, which pronunciation do you prefer - Emm-uh-leen OR Emm-uh-line)

I think you might end up with Em or Emma as a shortening of Emmeline eventually?

Verity- although they both have 3 syllables, this just feels shorter and less of a mouthful. Also less likely to be mispronounced.

Emmeline but I'm biased as it's my mother's and daughter's name.

I prefer Verity, it's lovely.

For Emmeline I like the Pankhurst connection but the name itself I find overly feminine.

They are both lovely names, I would go for Verity. If you choose Emmeline I think that the Emm-uh-leen pronounciation is much nicer and the one I naturally would say when I see the name. Good luck choosing!

Emmeline. I've never met a nice Verity though so could be clouding my judgement.

I almost named my daughter this name and I loved Emmi for short, but was worried she would get called Em, Emily or Emma.

To be fair though no matter what you prefer as they get older people shorten their names to whatever they like and you have no say in it.

Emmeline. I always say it with the -line pronunciation and I like it.

Emmeline. But really I only clicked the thread to prove my hunch that it was the same poster using CAPITALS IN THE TITLES.
