I like Jasmine, Tabitha and Violet. The others are meh.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/06/2020 22:36

Elsie - too old fashioned and twee, I’d hate to be a young woman in my 20s called this
Poppy - quite popular but I just associate with Trolls
Felicity - nice
Tabitha - a cat
Jasmine - my fav
Gracie - lovely but I’d use Grace on the birth certificate
Violet - really nice
Evie- nice, inoffensive- bit overused imo

Anthilda · 02/06/2020 22:38

I like the last four you posted. If I had to choose 1 it would be jasmine.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/06/2020 22:41

I don't want to pull your list a part, so I'll just focus on the positves.
The only names I love on your list are Poppy and Violet.
However Phoebe and Poppy are quite similar for sisters id say.
Phoebe and Violet are lovely as a sibset. Both very well known names but not ridiculously popular. Sweet and feminine but not too sickly.. Same amount of letters and syllables.

SpillTheTeaa · 02/06/2020 22:41

Elsie - Like this. I used to get called this by my sister when she couldn't say my name Grin
Poppy - I like this but don't love it.
Felicity - Hate this. Knew a girl with this name and she was just ew.
Tabitha - It's okay but worry nn would be Tabby.
Jasmine - No
Gracie - No
Violet - Love this one.
Evie - Love this too. Only ever met one Evangeline who was known as Evie.

20viona · 02/06/2020 22:42

Definitely violet as it's my daughters middle name 😂

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 02/06/2020 22:42

A great list. My favourites are
Tabitha and Violet.

Marlena1 · 02/06/2020 22:43

Love Jasmine, Evie and like Gracie (would give her the option of Grace on BC). Like Tabitha as reminds me of the girl from bewiched!

Horseshoe5 · 02/06/2020 22:44

Jasmine or Grace

Ineedanewusername · 02/06/2020 22:45

Elsie - ok
Poppy - ok
Felicity - love
Tabitha - ok, not very common
Jasmine - really pretty
Gracie - prefer Grace
Violet - not keen
Evie - not keen
Love Felicity and Jasmine

indecisivelil · 02/06/2020 22:46

@Marlena1 Tabitha was one of my picks because of bewitched but dh doesn't like the cat association. He had come round to it a bit though

Ikeameatballs · 02/06/2020 22:47

I don’t dislike any of them but some are just a bit too similar to Phoebe. Say “Phoebe and Evie” out loud!

I think Violet probably goes best with Phoebe without sounding similar.

5LeafPenguin · 02/06/2020 22:47

Violet, Grace, Jasmine, Tabitha

VioletVerity · 02/06/2020 22:50

Elsie - not keen
Poppy - not keen
Felicity - like it
Tabitha - I just always think of a cat!
Jasmine - love this
Gracie - I prefer Grace
Violet - love it my DD1s name so very bias here!
Evie - love

My favourites are Evie, Jasmine and Violet

formerbabe · 02/06/2020 22:50

Violet, Jasmine and Poppy are my favourites from your list.

indecisivelil · 02/06/2020 22:53

This is really useful feedback. Yes now I think of it calling Evie and Phoebe up the stairs might be a bit of a mouthful

OP posts:
littlebillie · 02/06/2020 22:53

Elsie - okay
Poppy - no
Felicity - possible
Tabitha - love
Jasmine - no
Gracie - everywhere
Violet - very common
Evie - are you serious every second girl called Evie under 10

indecisivelil · 02/06/2020 22:54

@littlebillie Evie was dh's pick. I put it on to be polite lol

OP posts:
BeMorePacific · 02/06/2020 23:25

Elsie - not my favourite but it’s a nice name.
Poppy - absolutely love, but V popular
Felicity - Not a can. I just can’t see it suiting a tiny baby.
Tabitha - Love it.
Jasmine - Really stands out to me in your list, and for all the wrong reasons. I really don’t like it (sorry!)
Gracie - I prefer Grace and Gracie as a NN.
Violet - Classy, elegant. Love it.
Evie - love this name, but too popular x

AC2020 · 02/06/2020 23:25

Elsie - old fashioned but nice. I taught an Elsie last year and she was a lovely girl
Poppy - love 💕
Felicity - reminds me of the women from desperate housewives.
Tabitha - cats name
Jasmine - love 💕
Gracie - love 💕
Violet - parma violet sweets 🤢
Evie - my god daughters name - love 💕

LilyMarshall · 02/06/2020 23:28

Elsie - not keen
Poppy - dont like at all
Felicity -ok
Tabitha - love it
Jasmine - ok
Gracie - not keen
Violet - dont like at all
Evie - it would be Evie then the First letter of your surname.

CoffeeRunner · 02/06/2020 23:33

For me - Poppy. But I am biased as I have one. You often hear posters on MN saying it’s too girly or too twee, but my Poppy is an 8 year old tomboy who loves Fortnite & Pokemon and won’t entertain pink things. It still suits her. Still works.

We also considered Violet - until someone pointed out how close it is to Violent.

Elsie we considered as it was my granny’s name. But it felt too old fashioned at the time. However, our neighbour has a 3 year old Elsie & it seems like a perfectly normal & fine name.

Felicity is my cousin, so didn’t really consider it. I also don’t like any of the possible nicknames.

You have a good list OP. We obviously have similar tastes Smile.

CoffeeRunner · 02/06/2020 23:35

Forgot to say - love Tabitha. nn Tabby!

AdaColeman · 02/06/2020 23:39

Felicity or Violet are my favourites.
I prefer Grace to Gracie.
Evie and all its variations has been hugely popular for years, so I think there are enough of them now.

Elsie & Poppy are my least favourite.
