I think Violet goes best with Phoebe. Evie and Phoebe is a bit of a tongue-twister.

Floralnomad · 02/06/2020 23:48

I only like Jasmine and Felicity and in that order .

Sittingontheveranda · 02/06/2020 23:52

Elsie - too old for me.
Poppy - too meh
Felicity - its ok
Tabitha - I love this.
Jasmine - nice.
Gracie - no. Grace is nicer.
Violet - I don't like it.
Evie - meh

MileyWiley · 02/06/2020 23:54

Blursula · 03/06/2020 00:23

Love Jasmine, Tabitha and Violet from your list.

WantToBeMum · 03/06/2020 00:47

I think Phoebe and Felicity sound good as a sibling pair. Both very pretty names.

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2020 00:53

With Phoebe I'd pick Felicity, Violet or maybe Jasmine. Tabitha goes too, very well actually, but personally I don't like it. Grace would be good too, but not Gracie.

Elsie and Poppy are too cutesy, Evie doesn't work as sounds too similar.

GetTheSprinkles · 03/06/2020 00:58

Violet is so lovely and not overly used.
I think it goes well with your other DDs name

changeitupagain · 03/06/2020 01:56

From favourite to least

Elsie
Jasmine
Evie
Gracie
Violet
Tabitha
Poppy
Felicity

Love Elsie and Tabitha, and like Gracie but would use Grace on the birth certificate. Like Evie as well but would do Eve/Evelyn on the BC, too. Congrats!

justanotherparent1810 · 03/06/2020 07:13

Elsie, jasmine and Violet are my favs

sweetnosugar · 03/06/2020 07:51

Elsie - my favourite, works well on a little girl and on a adult! Just think it’s beautiful.

Poppy - Not keen.
Felicity - I’m not a fan of the nn ‘Flick’ and imo it doesn’t sound right with your daughters name.
Tabitha - A friend of mine has this name, she never liked it growing up and is known by her middle name instead. Was called ‘Tabby’ as a nn. People would annoy her and call her ‘Tabby Cat’ and other related cat names!
Jasmine - I quite like this! I haven’t heard of any baby Jasmines for a while, I grow up with a few, they were lovely!
Gracie - not keen.
Violet - not keen.
Evie - In my youngest class there is many avas, Evie’s, eves puts me off a name when I heard it so often.

mamablondie2 · 03/06/2020 08:25

Elsie - it’s Ok
Poppy - not for me
Felicity -no
Tabitha - yes I like it!
Jasmine- LOVE. Favourite, so feminine but strong.
Gracie - awful.
Violet - also really like
Evie- No. bland and samey.

captainraymondholt · 03/06/2020 09:46

Elsie - lovely
Poppy - ok
Felicity - lovely
Tabitha - lovely
Jasmine - not keen personally, think it sounds harsh
Gracie - ok but super popular. Prefer Grace.
Violet - nice
Evie - boring and very popular.

Tabitha is my favourite from your list, closely followed by Felicity. I think Elsie goes better with Phoebe though.

indecisivelil · 03/06/2020 10:00

It's so hard to choose. I think I'll veto Grace (too popular) , Evie (same) and Elsie (old ladyish). Leaving us with Poppy, Violet, Tabitha and Jasmine. Poppy concerns me as it's still pretty popular, Violet I'm worried sounds like violent and could be nicknamed 'Vi'. Tabitha I am drawn to but there is the cat thing and our surname has a similar sound to it. I think Jasmine appears to be quite well received here and seems to have the least issues. I might try to push for that with DH. He suggested it but says he regrets mentioning it now because he prefers Elsie. I just want something pretty but also friendly and not too common. I wish I felt the same about another name as I did about my dd's. I was totally sure about Phoebe and I love it now too.

Felicity actually still up there. Arrghhh!

Mumma4262 · 03/06/2020 10:31

I love Violet, it’s what we are making DD.

I don’t shorten names but you could use “V” instead of Vi as a nickname (we know of a little girl with this).

Otherwise Jasmine goes well with Phoebe.

Mumma4262 · 03/06/2020 10:32

Naming^

Whatsyourflava · 03/06/2020 11:11

Violet and Felicity are both gorgeous. So is Jasmine. Really really love all three
Tabitha is a cat name. Wouldn't use.

VirginWestCoast · 03/06/2020 11:18

Elsie
Poppy- fine when she's young, not so much as an adult
Felicity- very twee sounded
Tabitha- quite definite cat's name.
Jasmine- Quite nice
Gracie
Violet- Really like
Evie

With Evie, Gracie and Elsie, I'd change it slightly for Eve/Eva, Grace or Elsa (I know, Frozen, but it's still a nice name). Even if you call them Evie or Gracie in everyday life, it's good for them to have the option of having a name that will suit them as adults. All three are nice names.

Viviennemary · 03/06/2020 11:23

I like Violet and Elsie best. The only one I don't like much is Tabitha.

formerbabe · 03/06/2020 11:27

Elsie suits a baby or an old lady...I don't think it's great as a young adults name.

PissOffStayAtHomeDogMum · 03/06/2020 11:33

Tabitha, Felicity and Violet are all good.
