Just throwing this out there.....
Cora
What are your honest opinions? I like names that cannot be shortened, so this fits nicely. Heard the name a few weeks ago and keep going back to it.
Only one slight concern though, is it too similar sounding to Noah?
Also, there was a young girl called Cora who danced with Jack in the film Titanic.

Thank you.

I love it.

Weirdly, the only thing that puts me off is that it can't be shortened and I love a name with a NN. I think she'll end up being 'Cor' and I don't like that.

It's not that similar to Noah in my accent, but I suppose it could be in some?

welshweasel · 30/05/2020 21:18

Like it. Also like Cara. No issues with Noah I don’t think.

Destroyedpeople · 30/05/2020 21:20

It's nice tbh.

KatyB222 · 30/05/2020 21:21

I really like it.. I've not heard it before now you've got me testing it with our surname and my son's name!

I think it goes nicely with Noah.

Marcipex · 30/05/2020 21:23

I see an overblown busty woman, with rollers in.
Cara is prettier and further from Noah.
But it can be shortened, surely. Am I missing something?

35andThriving · 30/05/2020 21:27

I may be weird but I wouldn't use it for a girl born around this time because of the coronavirus.

It just makes me think of that. I appreciate I am probably am alonenin thinking that though. I don't know.

SpeedofaSloth · 30/05/2020 21:28

I think of Coraline, which I quite like (but perhaps read the book/ watch the film first to make sure you're OK with the connations, perhaps).

Tavannach · 30/05/2020 21:28

It's okay - I prefer Cara or Coral.

babynamelover · 30/05/2020 21:29

I love Cora, hubby is Corie so too close for us otherwise I would have used it. Cordelia is pretty too.

SilverOtter · 30/05/2020 21:31

I love itSmile.

It would be on my shortlist if I was having a girl, but I've got a boy called Corin and it's a far too similar.

35andThriving · 30/05/2020 21:32

Also, your other option, means "face" in Spanish. This may or may not matter to you though.

Mummyshark2018 · 30/05/2020 21:32

I love the name too

NuffSaidSam · 30/05/2020 21:33

I also really like Coralie.

WSLTitanic1912 · 30/05/2020 21:35

@35andThriving Face in spanish is Cara not Cora..... Cora means heart.

It reminds me of Cora Palliser in The Pallisers. ... (a v stylish lady played by Susan Hampshire)《shows age》...it was like the 'Downton Abbey' of its day.

Pixie2015 · 30/05/2020 21:37

Love it as reminds me of Downtown Abbey and Cora was such a beautiful character

35andThriving · 30/05/2020 21:37

That's what I meant. Op also mentioned liking Cara.

Epigram · 30/05/2020 21:38

I like Cora. I like Cara and Clara too.

WSLTitanic1912 · 30/05/2020 21:39

@35andThriving I think you are mistaken. I am the original poster and didn't mention liking Cara.

MooominMamma · 30/05/2020 21:55

Love, love, love it! It's my girl's name if I ever had one but I'm done now, with 2DS, no more for me.
