Heidi is my favourite

DramaAlpaca · 17/05/2020 23:13

Chloe or Elodie. Noah is an old name and a biblical classic. Elodie and
Chloe are the closest in style to it, well established names if you like. I know sibling names don't have to 'go', but they work best with Noah in my opinion.

Of the other names, Heidi and Tilly are too twee and cutesy to go with Noah. Summer isn't really a name in my view. Caitlin annoys me because I want to say it the Irish way and nobody in the UK does.

LadyLovelyLockz · 17/05/2020 23:21

Heidi or Caitlyn. Both underused and beautiful.

Elodie is pretty but becoming really commonplace,

Summer is ok...not bad, just ok.

Chloe is blah.

Tilly is a pet name.

tigerwhocametoT · 17/05/2020 23:29

Heidi would be my pick.

Ellmau · 17/05/2020 23:36

Chloe by far. Pretty yet classic.

summersun7 · 18/05/2020 08:33

Been through all the messages so far and we have:
Heidi and Chloe most preferred.
Elodie second. Followed closely by Caitlin.
Summer and Tilly are way down the list.

Thank you all who have chosen so far. Anyone else who wishes to contribute, please feel free. All comments gratefully received.

There is one more name I'm considering throwing into the mix..... Seren.
But I'm not welsh. It's a very different style to my other names. I just adore the fact it means 'star'. However, its quite a harsh name unlike my other girls names, so really not sure. I found it when going back through some old lists.

Love all your name options except Caitlin

Chloe
Elodie
Heidi
Summer
Tilly

All really lovely

Don't like Seren. Just doesn't seem very feminine to me.

mylittleavalon · 18/05/2020 08:53

My ranking:

  1. Heidi- such a lovely feel to it both country and classy and suits all ages
  2. Chloe- pretty but don't feel it goes with Noah as well as Heidi
  3. Elodie- I really liked this name but feel it's gaining so much popularity there will soon be loads and loads of Elodies about
  4. Summer- bit bleh
  5. Caitlin- bit hard sounding
  6. Seren- like this but don't feel it goes with Noah, bit of a mouthful
  7. Tilly- really dislike, too cutesy, wet and babyish in my opinion (I realise lots like this name so it's just in my opinion)
cecinestpasunepipe · 18/05/2020 08:58

I have a daughter and a cat with two of those names!

Nanalisa60 · 18/05/2020 08:58

I really like Tilly
caitlin - very popular in Scotland (especially in Glasgow)

Have you thought of Hope!!

Beamur · 18/05/2020 09:00

They're all pretty names.
I like Caitlyn the least.
Chloe is a pretty name but I know about a million girls and women called Chloe.
Summer is not used much, I know one little girl with this name. Works for a summer baby.
Heidi is a great name, unusual but not weird and familiar enough for people to know how to spell it.
Elodie is a new one for me, I don't know anyone at all with this name. Is it the new popular baby name?
Tilly is great, but I would have it as a nickname for Matilda not a name in its own right.
I actually think any of these would work with your boys names, but I wouldn't really consider that important anyway.
Seren is rather lovely. I wouldn't think of it as sounding harsh either.

summersun7 · 18/05/2020 09:15

Thank you all have decided to drop Caitlin (and not adding Seren either).
So we now have:
Chloe, Elodie, Heidi, Summer and Tilly.
My son has said he's not very keen on Elodie. So may drop that one too. Xx

Posters who come on the threads to say Elodie will date. Odfod

Why? Not everyone cares about whether a name will date or not, but some will, so it's not a terrible thing to point out.

I like Heidi and Caitlin. Summer is a bit hippyish. Chloe and Tilly are a bit twee. Elodie is nice but yes, names that begin in "El" have been done to death in the past few years.

summersun7 · 18/05/2020 10:51

Another name we considered that we haven't put on our shortlist but have been discussing today and may add back on is Arabella.
So updated shortlist would be:
Arabella, Chloe, Elodie, Heidi, Summer and Tilly.

Not to put you off OP, but I have a Chloe and a Jacob :)

ListenLinda · 18/05/2020 11:09

Looks like we have similar tastes in names :)

summersun7 · 18/05/2020 11:11

@ListenLinda Awww thats lovely. Doesn't put me off at all. Thank you x

I've been on your other threads flying the flag for HeidiGrin.

BeMorePacific · 18/05/2020 11:18

I love Heidi.

I have a friend called Tilly, she son her 30’s and it doesn’t suit her at all. x

BabyDust13 · 18/05/2020 11:19

I like Heidi I think it's definitely due a come back there isn't many of them about. Good luck

helpmum2003 · 18/05/2020 11:23

That's a great list, hard to choose!

Arabella - like this
Chloe - classic and simple, like this
Elodie - ok
Heidi - love this
Summer - don't like
Tilly - love but would use as nn for Matilda

I personally wouldn't match sibling names, they are individuals.

Edenember · 18/05/2020 12:14

I ❤️ Heidi. My favourite from your list. Cute on a little one, chic on a lady.

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 12:18

Caitlin is my favourite, not a fan of Tilly or Summer.

TeaAddict235 · 18/05/2020 13:47

Arabella wipes the others off the list. You've now upped the game.
