Middle for Havana

We are trying to stay on the brave side and use this name we have both loved and holds an actual meaning and connection to us.

Havana
Havana Louise - basic?
Havana Grace - basic again?
Havana Elise - I have a relative named Elisa (30s) so not too sure about this one even if it flows nicely *
*
We are struggling with middle names and even getting cold feet to actually go through with the name. Our other names were a little bit more out there.

Saskia
Georgia
Bronwen (we are not welsh)
Fiona (only problem is actually Shrek)
Cressida
Frida

Will our other DC need to have place-related names? To be honest we do quite like the theme but we are not sure how weird that'd be but also how odd it would be to have "Havana and Thomas" or something as our DC if we don't go with the theme.

I LOVE Havana! Please stick with it! I chose a name that is very unusual and I had to be brave but I’m SO glad I did!

I love Havana Elise. I also adore Saskia if you decide you don’t want to commit to Havana. I would have loved Saskia as a name for a future daughter but it’s too similar to my DD Sad

WitchWife · 14/05/2020 16:49

I quite like it! Everyone is going to ask if her middle name is Cuba though.

Middle name perhaps something quite sensible a) in case she doesn’t like Havana b) because eg Havana Sunbeam sounds a bit strippery (sorry).

Frida is my fave on your list for a middle name. Not Georgia please - too confusing geographically.

Spirali · 14/05/2020 16:49

Oh and no, of course you don’t need to stick to place names! Names don’t need to ‘match’ Smile

laundryelf · 14/05/2020 16:50

Havana Rose sounds good to me.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 14/05/2020 16:51

Dont use a name with A on the end it wont flow

elfran · 14/05/2020 16:54

Of your options, I like Havana Louise best. Grace is far too common for me, and Elise just doesn't flow as nicely off the tongue (I think it's the -a ending running into a vowel at the start).

That said, I LOVE Saskia and Frida so much, so my vote would be one of those :)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/05/2020 16:55

I wouldn't say Georgia was out there. Confused

Havana Louise

futuristicnow · 14/05/2020 17:05

Quick edit: The list of names is for options we are considering if we don’t go with Havana, not middle name options. Sorry!

WithWife
I’m actually looking for suggestions on middle names, those are first names we are considering if we don’t go through with Havana** Smile

Laundryelf
I would like a more “normal/traditional” middle name since Havana ticks the box for uncommon as a first but I do feel Grace, Louise and Rose are a little bit filler names even two of them are our choices but it’s only since we wouldn’t come up with anything else.Sad

Awwlookatmybabyspider
I know a fair share of Georgias to consider it a name that is out there, it feels like a normal name to me such as Charlotte or Imogen. Perhaps is more common in my area.

I thought out there meant quite unusual rather than popular. Blush

It might be my mistake then, sorry. English isn't my first language and I sometimes will get lost in translation. In my language if a name is "out there" it means it's pretty common and you see it everywhere out there. Apologies Thanks

Havana Rose has a lovely rhythm to it. So, a one-syllable name for the middle.

Havana Lil (sounds like the legendary owner of a bar in a dodgy part of town known for its wild parties and great music.)

Orphlids · 14/05/2020 17:30

I love Havana Elise! Beautiful - I’d love this to be my name, but I’m much too dull! Don’t get cold feet - you’d always regret not using it, especially if it means something to you. No, your other children don’t need place names. Probably better if they didn’t, in my opinion. Good luck!

rosy71 · 14/05/2020 17:36

I like Havana Elise.
What about:
Havana Elizabeth
Havana Mary
Havana Jane
Havana Lucy
Havana Rose?

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 14/05/2020 17:37

Havana Laugh?

Crikey0000 · 14/05/2020 17:38

Havana oohnahnah??

SiaPR · 14/05/2020 17:42

I know two Havanas, but no Fridas. I think all place names are a little overused tbh. I love the name Frida, it is strong, unusual and cool.

midnightstar66 · 14/05/2020 17:42

I think Havana Elise flows the best of all the options you gave

WitchWife · 14/05/2020 18:03

Havana Morgan
Havana Faith
Havana Juliet (bit too cigar themed I guess!)
Havana Cleo
Havana Kate
Havana Leonie
Havana Meg/an
Havana Juno
Havana Ruth

Shmithecat2 · 14/05/2020 18:06

@Crikey0000

Havana oohnahnah??

🤣🤣🤣 that was my first thought.

That's quite interesting you know two with the name, do they have any nicknames? That's also we are sort of struggling with at the moment

AragornsManlyStubble · 14/05/2020 19:56

Havana is gorgeous, please use it!

I suggest Havana Marie.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 14/05/2020 19:58

Havana Laugh?

Sorry, but Grin.

Mucklowe · 14/05/2020 20:02

Havana Georgia sounds like Savannah Georgia.

Havana Louise has a nice ring to it.

serenada · 14/05/2020 20:04

Oh, Havana Marie is lovely. So rhythmic.

bridgetreilly · 14/05/2020 20:07

I really, really don't like it, sorry, OP. It just sounds like 'Having a...' to me. I can't see any way that this kid isn't going to get all kinds of nicknames and name calling.

I would strongly suggest you reconsider and maybe have it as the middle name, because it's meaningful to you. But I think it would be a burden for a child to have it as their first name.
