Baby names
Girls names to go with Noah
summersun7 · 10/05/2020 16:37
Since my last post I've done alot of thinking and I've decided to let Matilda go all together. I don't feel I can or should use it. And my friendship is definitely more important than a name.
So I come up with a bit of a short list:
• Amelia
• Daisy
• Violet
• Heidi
• Cora (Possibly too similar sounding to Noah)
Which do you prefer and why?
If you have a name you think might go better feel free to suggest.
I dislike names that can be shortened and unisex names for girls. I do tend to prefer common names.
Thanks. X

Heidi Matilda would work too. Actually all your names would work with Matilda as a middle name if you wanted that.
Bubbletrouble43 · 10/05/2020 16:40
I agree Heidi. Can't be shortened, not too common, sounds nice with Noah.
userabcname · 10/05/2020 16:42
Amelia: not a fan, very popular.
Daisy: like and it goes nicely with Noah.
Violet: it's ok but prefer others on your list.
Heidi: like! It's pretty and a bit different.
Cora: probably my favourite. If too similar to Noah, how about Cara? Although Cora and Noah don't sound too similar to me.
Suggestions: Madeline, Madison, Poppy, Flora

Noah and Violet or Noah and Daisy work really well together.
Noah and Lois
Noah and Jemima
Noah and Hannah
Noah and Hero

Heidi is my favourite. Short like Noah, can't be shortened and not many around but not too unusual.
You have to stand at the bottom of the stairs and shout "Noah, Heidi, dinner's ready" and see what you like best.

Violet is my favourite. Beautiful association with flower, strong but delicate at same time.
Amelia and Daisy just too overused in past 5 years, though still lovely.
Cora my 2nd favourite for same reasons as Violet! X

I really love all your names especially violet and Cora
Both sound good with Noah
Mammyloveswine · 10/05/2020 17:37
I really like "Clara" for a girl! And Elodie, Esme m, Emily!
wibdib · 10/05/2020 17:40
Of your list I like Heidi - as others have said it’s currently a bit different.
I have a Noah and if I’d had a girl afterwards, Hester and Hebe were top of my girls name shortlist.
sundowners · 10/05/2020 18:00
Love Violet.
I like Heidi but not with as "trendy" a name as Heidi, just a bit too much IMO.
sundowners · 10/05/2020 18:02
Sorry as with #Noah. I think its good you let go of Matilda as for me Heidi and Matilda fall into that same group.
Ninkanink · 10/05/2020 18:17
Noah and Raine would be a mildly witty combination...
I’d probably go for something Biblical to go with Noah, tbh.
Riv12345 · 10/05/2020 18:18
From your list
Violet - such a pretty name, goes lovely with Noah xx
Lynda07 · 10/05/2020 18:19
I like Raine. However why are thinking in terms of names 'going with' Noah? They are individual names for individual people, surely.
Lynda07 · 10/05/2020 18:20
PS: I didn't think of 'Raine' as 'rain', so no! Don't use that name. Stop thinking of names to 'go with' and just pick a girl's name you like.
summersun7 · 10/05/2020 18:22
Thank you for the suggestion of Raine.
Its just not quite what I'm looking for I'm afraid. I prefer more solid names. I loved Summer but I can't seem to get past the fact its a season not a name. Raine has a similar feel to me.
Doidontimmm · 10/05/2020 18:22
Why does it have to go with Noah? I don’t get it? They will be separate people!
I like all your choices though
summersun7 · 10/05/2020 18:25
@Lynda07 I guess I feel names need to compliment each other. For example I don't think Noah and say..... Theodora go well together as they are completely different. Same with Noah and Nevaeh.
FlosCampi · 10/05/2020 18:27
I know you weren't asking for suggestions but what about Iris? Goddess of the rainbow in Greek and Roman myths. Therefore goes with Noah and also commemorates the current symbol of hope in these strange days?
BathshebaAndGabriel · 10/05/2020 18:54
Something biblical perhaps...
Ruth
Hannah
Rachel
