What is everyones top 5 for each sex? Not pregnant yet but trying, and we think we have first names picked out for girl and boy but sometimes dot around our top 5. Also open to finding new names to sway me! I'll start:

Boys: Sullivan, Elliot, Archer, Harvey and Hayes

Girls: Lyla/Lylah, Amélie, Nora, Eliot and Joie

@Whatsyourflava I quite like Kit but I don't think it would get the nod of approval from OH or our parents unfortunately! Nice name though!

@BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs yay Archer! I don't see many others saying they like it! Also, I love Elodie, it's so pretty sounding! But I hate the name Melody and I worry people would think that was the name when introduced so for that reason I had to veto from my list!

@SpicedCamomile I love James! I'm usually more drawn towards slughtly less common names but James is one of those classics that i've always loved and probably always will! It may even make a middle name if I can convince OH (he thinks it is boring). Also love Teddy but I worry it's getting a little too popular at the moment with the wrong kind of people (not trying to sound snobby).

@SarahTTCx I wasn’t allowed Teddy as DH has Edward as a middle name and doesn’t like it! We did use James though.
I hadn’t realised when I put my girls names that Sarah is in your user name - I don’t know if that’s your real name of course but I wasn’t trying to suck up Grin. It was super popular when I was younger (five in my school year) so I didn’t really consider it as a favourite name then but now I realise how much I like it and guess it was popular for a reason!

@SpicedCamomile haha Sarah is my name! Didn't think you were sucking up don't worry. It's funny, my name was very popular when I was young (I was one of 5 Sarah's in my year at school) and then nobody younger than me seemed to be Sarah! It does seem to be making a come back though, i've seen lot's of people with it in their lists on here!

@SarahTTCx if you like Kit but think it might raise eyebrows, it's a nickname for Christopher so you could have that as the official name but call him Kit day to day - just an idea.
I love the name Sarah by the way

Whatsyourflava · 07/05/2020 15:49

I'm the same @SpicedCamomile
Totally agree with you

@SarahTTCx I think as time goes on no one would mishear Melody for Elodie. I looked into the official statistics on another recent thread - the name Melody is practically extinct now. Elodie is wayyyy higher up the charts. I think it will be the other way round - a future "Melody" would continually be called "Elodie"
