SarahTTCx · 05/05/2020 23:23

What is everyones top 5 for each sex? Not pregnant yet but trying, and we think we have first names picked out for girl and boy but sometimes dot around our top 5. Also open to finding new names to sway me! I'll start:

Boys: Sullivan, Elliot, Archer, Harvey and Hayes

Girls: Lyla/Lylah, Amélie, Nora, Eliot and Joie

Thank you @pinkpinecone and @SarahTTCx Effie is a bit marmite but we love their names!

SarahTTCx · 06/05/2020 12:51

@pinkpinecone love Lucas but my sister has said for years that whenever she has a son he will be Lucas so I leave that well alone as not to cause arguments haha!

@Robs20 love your boys names! Your 3 little ones names flow so well together, lovely!

@LotusClover it is hard to pick just 5! We shuffle our top 5 around all of the time but Sullivan is always in there for a boy so we are pretty sure we're set on that it we get lucky enough to get pregnant!

@Pantheon You've got some gorgeous names there, love Theodore and James for boys and Nina and Eva for girls!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 06/05/2020 16:26

Boys:
Ivor, Seth, Owen, Tom, Laurie (I like simple strong names for boys.)

Girls:
Lara, April, Isla, Alice, Audrey

SarahTTCx · 06/05/2020 19:06

@ChnandlerBong George and Nina are gorgeous, they'd be lovely sibling names!

@Edenember Zachary and Erika are so lovely! Zachary was always really high on my list then a close friend named her little boy Zachary so I scrapped it!

@BatleyTownswomensGuild I love Owen but my OH just won't go for it no matter how hard I try! Also a big fan of Alice, it's quite likely that would be a middle name if we had a girl as it was also my great grans name! I love the sound of Lyla Alice with our surname!

@SarahTTCx

dd would have been Nina but ds (not George!) was 2 at the time and fixated with fire engines aka nee-naas so it would have just been too confusing all round!

Pantheon · 07/05/2020 10:23

That's really unkind. There's a big difference between saying you don't like a child's behaviour - hitting or biting or something - and saying you don't like them as a person. That's fundamentally who they are. Very damaging. And if it's some kind of personality clash, still no need to say anything, surely.

whatausername · 07/05/2020 10:26

Polly, Harriet, Kiera, Tessa, Antonia

Isaiah, Marcus, Qasim, Cathal, Arjun (also like this for a girl so really it's a sneaky alternate!)

All of these are subject to change within the week or even the day...I love the history and creativity of names.

SarahTTCx · 07/05/2020 10:41

@Pantheon I think you may have commented on the wrong thread, I can't see any comments on here about disliking a child or their behaviour?

@whatausername I've always loved Tessa (and similarly Stella) but feel they don't work where I live! Especially Stella since I live in Stella haha!
