They're all quite fashionable again, but Daphne maybe not?

JanewaysBun · 04/05/2020 21:52

Daphne Is my name that got away..

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/05/2020 21:56

Daphne is my fav name but my husband vetoed it.

Jennifer is lovely

The others are imo a little dated.

Mummytea24 · 04/05/2020 21:58

All lovely names, best list of baby names I've seen on here for a while. Too many people trying to be hip & different

DramaAlpaca · 04/05/2020 22:01

I agree. Nicest list I've seen for ages. The only one I really don't like is Margaret.

My favourites are Daphne and Louisa.

pilates · 04/05/2020 22:02

Yes apart from Anna and Louisa

elliot2020 · 04/05/2020 22:04

Beautiful names! I love Daphne and Jennifer

NannyR · 04/05/2020 22:04

Not so keen on Daphne or Margaret, but love the rest of them especially Caroline and Joanna. I also really like Rebecca, Susan (Susie), June and Judith.

Angel2702 · 04/05/2020 22:05

Like those apart from Anna and susannah

Fozzleyplum · 04/05/2020 22:08

That's a good list, with a lot of my favourites - I had boys, so never got to use them. The best IMO are

Anna
Jane
Julia
Esther
Mary
Joanna

I also had Honor on my girl list.

missmouse101 · 04/05/2020 22:08

Daphne, Mary and Margaret are very dated. Louisa and Julia would be my favourites.

Sertchgi123 · 04/05/2020 22:09

I like Anna and Julia best, very classy.

seriousandloyal · 04/05/2020 22:11

Louisa is a lovely name.

AcrobaticCardigan · 04/05/2020 22:12

Not keen on any of these. They’re a bit plain & dated in a 70s/80s type way, not in a cool/classic way.

Luckingfovely · 04/05/2020 22:12

I don't like Jane or Margaret, the rest are all fine.

SpicedCamomile · 04/05/2020 22:19

I like them all, apart from possibly finding Jane a bit plain. I would have used Anna if we had had a girl (or Rose). I know a child called Esther but don’t know any children with any of the other names. Think my favourite apart from Anna is Daphne.

ElectricTonight · 04/05/2020 22:19

Louisa is lovely.

daisypond · 04/05/2020 22:20

That’s a very good list. Very just ahead of the curve but already on the way back. It’ll take the rest of the country 20 years to catch up. I know a few babies and toddlers called these.

daisypond · 04/05/2020 22:22

The Esther and Mary I know are in their mid teens.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/05/2020 22:28

I agree that this is an on trend but not trendy list of nice names. I'm not mad on Joanna but like the rest.

helpmum2003 · 04/05/2020 22:30

Not keen on Daphne but the others are great.

Anna, Louisa and Joanna are my faves.

Other possibles
Martha
Ruth
Amanda
Victoria

Cheaperbythetriple · 04/05/2020 22:32

Anna- boring
Caroline- no
Jane- plain
Louisa- pretty but where I live would probably be pronounced ‘Louise-er’
Julia- dated
Esther- not keen
Daphne-lovely
Mary- gorgeous!
Susanna (or Susannah)- no
Jennifer- no
Margaret- lovely
Joanna- dated IMO. A bit like Nicola or Gemma

I like Mary most and Margaret and Daphne also

Sb131216 · 04/05/2020 22:32

I really don't think those are dated.. I wouldn't use daphne myself but Julia is on my list and I think it is so lovely and classic.. Not twee or grandmother name but not unusual and easy to spell, understand and pronounce so that would be my favourite

Tillygetsit · 04/05/2020 22:38

Susannah is my favourite. I have one who's 5. Loads of nn potential...she prefers Susie...and not met another yet.

Mammyloveswine · 04/05/2020 22:38

Very traditional! I like Louisa!
