Help, due in a week? Helen?

Hubby and I had agreed on Rachel Georgia, both names are meaningful too us and we like the sound of Rachel, and nn Rae. But I am due in a week and we have been having 2nd thoughts as it sounds very Jewish to us - not that this is really a big problem but we a not religious at all.

Don't really have many alternatives at the minute but but what do people think of the name HELEN?

Would probably be
Helen Zoe
Helen Heather
Helen Grace

I knew a Rachel nn Rae. It always felt like a forced nn.

Helen is OK. I like Helena much more.

Or Georgia.

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 04/05/2020 00:00

I like Helena too - but I like names ending in A! Rebecca, Louisa etc
Helena Grace sounds lovely.

rossKemp · 04/05/2020 00:04

Helena is better than Helen

Ihaveamind · 04/05/2020 00:04

I really like Helen. I think Helen Grace is the nicest of the three. Best wishes with the birth.

TheThingWithFeathers · 04/05/2020 00:05

Rachel is much nicer than Helen.

Ilovecats14 · 04/05/2020 00:07

Helen no. Helena no. Rachel yes.

Tabithha · 04/05/2020 00:07

Helen is very dated. I prefer rachel. Lovely classic name

Twooter · 04/05/2020 00:08

Not Helen.

Reversiblesequinsforadults · 04/05/2020 00:09

Both classic names. Both lovely

MrsBungle · 04/05/2020 00:12

Helen is a bit dated. I’ve never known Rae as a nickname for Rachel but I’ve known 2 Rae’s - just Rae. Rae is nice.

VirginWestCoast · 04/05/2020 00:18

I've got an Ellen, Helen/Helena were also possible options. Lovely names and not ones you hear much nowadays. That said, I do also really like Rachel.
Would you be able to use one as a middle name?

DramaAlpaca · 04/05/2020 00:20

I like Helen, how refreshingly unusual these days.

Glittercandle · 04/05/2020 00:20

Rachel is lovely. Quite like Helena but oddly don’t like Helen.

Viviennemary · 04/05/2020 00:22

I think Helen is lovely. Helen Grace goes really well. Rachel is nice too but I prefer Helen

Frankencream · 04/05/2020 00:22

Helena is way nicer than Helen. I don’t like
Rachel either it’s very dated imo and I really don’t like ‘planned’ nicknames

firawla · 04/05/2020 00:24

I prefer Helen to Helena

ParsleyPot · 04/05/2020 00:26

Helen is beautiful

SirVixofVixHall · 04/05/2020 00:28

Helen and Rachel or Rachael are both classic, elegant and timeless names.
I don’t know any small girls with either name.

SirVixofVixHall · 04/05/2020 00:29

The nickname for Helen is Nell or Nelly, but neither name needs a nn.

nymrgn · 04/05/2020 00:32

I think Helena or Elena. Smile

samandpoppysmummy · 04/05/2020 00:33

I love Rachel and Helen, they are both lovely names. I think Helen is nicer than Helena.

TimeWastingButFun · 04/05/2020 00:40

Love the name Helen, especially Helen Grace.

jfoyo26 · 04/05/2020 00:41

Helena is not an option, I like it, but husband hates it. Plus we know loads of Eleanor's which sounds similar.
DD1 is Louise so I guess like classic but unpopular names that some may think are a little dated.
Don't think we would try force a nickname, but I know some older Rachel's who use the nn Rae/Ray and I like it.
