Which name do you prefer out of
Felicity or
Penelope?

I love them both although slightly worried about the rise in popularity of Felicity.

Also any other suggestions? Smile

I Love both, but I think Penelope wins for me :)

Aber9 · 29/04/2020 08:39

Penelope. I just love it.

NellyTimes · 29/04/2020 08:57

Have you been watching the Good Life? 😉

I prefer Felicity too.

Chirpychirpy3 · 29/04/2020 09:00

I love both of them. Haven’t met any baby Penelopes but know several Felicitys.

user1493494961 · 29/04/2020 09:02

Felicity.

Whatsyourflava · 29/04/2020 09:03

@Ginfilledcats ahh I love the name Felicity! It did start increasing in popularity about 10 years ago but if you look at the official ONS stats, for the last 3+ years the numbers for the name have totally plateaued (at around the number 100 mark in the name charts). So it’s a fairly safe choice and has not boomed in the way names like Arlo have where they shoot up every year and have jumped up literally thousands and thousands of places year on year to reach the top 40 in the chart!

I love both Felicity and Penelope 😍

ParsleyPot · 29/04/2020 09:04

I totally love both of these names!

SnowdropFox · 29/04/2020 09:12

Penelope for me. Love the nn Penny. I'd call her my lucky Penny Smile

Iwantacookie · 29/04/2020 09:16

I know an adult Felicity. She just hates the nickname fliss or flissy but doesn't mind being called Felicity.
I prefer Penelope personally but both nice names.

MikeUniformMike · 29/04/2020 09:17

Penelope. Both are too long but Penny is fine. Not keen of Flick, Fliss etc

Rainbowqueeen · 29/04/2020 09:18

Love them both
What works best with your surname and planned middle name

I’d wait and see which one suits her best when she arrives

Felicity

Smellybluecheese · 29/04/2020 09:19

Felicity. It's the name of my fantasy second child but BIL has recently used it. I know one other under 5 with it. But I also know a 5 year old Penelope. Both are nice!

RoseMartha · 29/04/2020 09:21

Felicity

Other names
Cassandra

paerol · 29/04/2020 09:22

Penelope.

Not keen on Felicity!

LynetteScavo · 29/04/2020 09:24

The thing is, if the name Felicity is rising in popularity, more posters her will say they prefer it. I think Penelope made a bit of a leap in the names charts when one of the kardashians named their DD Penelope.

I think you need to look at your baby and see which one suites her best. Also look at the meaning of the name.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 09:25

Felicity

peperethecat · 29/04/2020 09:28

Really like them both.

Maybe think about how they can be shortened and see if that helps you decide.

toughgetsgoing · 29/04/2020 09:37

Don't like either but Fizzy is such a cute nn or Lissy

31weeksandcounting · 29/04/2020 09:37

Thank you everyone!

Not keen on the nn Penny although love Nell, Pen, P, and Pia

Also not keen on Flick but do like Lissy and Fliss

Also on the list are Cora, Romilly and Thea xx
