Poppy.
Lucy is imo a bit wet /over popular...

peperethecat · 28/04/2020 10:44

Lucy.

Nachonacho · 28/04/2020 10:45

I love Lucy Smile In my opinion, Poppy is very popular!

spotthedog12 · 28/04/2020 11:08

Thanks all!

I think I prefer Lucy but I heard Poppy a few days ago and I think I've fallen in love

Poppy is so much nicer.

IdblowJonSnow · 28/04/2020 11:16

I like both.
Lucy is timeless and classic to me, doesn't sound wet at all. It means light which I think is lovely.

ParsleyPot · 28/04/2020 11:19

Lucy.

Poppy sounds like a diminutive to me. Lovely for a small child. A bit twee on a professional woman.

peperethecat · 28/04/2020 11:20

I think Poppy has been in vogue for the last ten years or so, and I always associate the name with a middle class, precocious verging on irritating/naughty little girl who knows she can twist her parents around her little finger to get what she wants.

Lucy is a classic name that is never really in or out of fashion and I don't really have any strong feelings about the type of girl that would be called Lucy.

You could also consider Lucia with the option to use Lucy or Lucie as a nickname. I always think Lucia is very beautiful and elegant, especially for an adult woman.

AldiAisleOfCrap · 28/04/2020 11:21

Lucy.

formerbabe · 28/04/2020 11:23

Prefer Lucy.. it's more timeless.

Poppy is nice but will date

babynamelover · 28/04/2020 11:48

Lucy or Lucille or Lucinda.
Poppy is a young girls name to me.

BlueChampagne · 28/04/2020 11:51

Lucy for me too.

EveryLifeHasASoundtrack · 28/04/2020 11:53

Definitely Lucy.

Johnskymberlina · 28/04/2020 11:53

Both pretty but I would choose Lucy over Poppy. I quite like the spelling PP used Lucie, worked in childcare and teaching and never came across it spent like that. Makes it less popular

plus3 · 28/04/2020 11:55

I had the same! (plus Clementine...) went with Lucy & would often call her my poppity poppet ...anyway not so much now she is nearly 15 Grin

Spied · 28/04/2020 11:57

Lucy. It will grow with her.
Poppy will forever be a little cutsie name.

MikeUniformMike · 28/04/2020 12:17

Lucy but I like both.

Peachbubble · 28/04/2020 12:29

Lucy, but Poppy a close second.

Hotpinkangel19 · 28/04/2020 12:37

Poppy, but my youngest daughter is Poppy Rose.

Whatsyourflava · 28/04/2020 12:40

Love both!! Let us know what you pick. 2 really lovely names

87Callista · 28/04/2020 13:06

Lucy! So underused and a timeless classic.

schnubbins · 28/04/2020 13:10

Lucy .It will suit her at any age , young or old .Poppy is only suitable for a child imo .

Temple29 · 28/04/2020 13:11

Lucy

Anappleaday1 · 28/04/2020 13:45

Lucy

spotthedog12 · 28/04/2020 17:48
