I like Azriel but I can't name a baby that as it's too close to Azrael, the angel of death in the Islamic & Jewish traditions.

You need to have a conversation with him and decide on a name together. It’s his baby too.

I loved the name Jesse before we knew DD was a girl. DH hated it so we crossed it off the list. He liked Michael but I hated it so we crossed it off the list. There are millions of names and I’m sure you can find one you both like rather than either of you having to settle on a name you hate.

Yes I agree with 16:24BeingATwatItsABingThing you need to speak to your dh & decide together rather than asking random strangers on the Internet. It is his baby too, you need to ask him if he likes the name suggestions rather than us.

Amayah means 'near God' so is it important to have a religious connection?

Gosh you and husband have completely different taste- like me with mine!

His names are lovely classic names but I actually wouldn't use them as they're so well known.

For a boy my dh liked Ryan as I mistakenly said I really liked the name- I do but it's too popular. Anyway he was dead set on it.
I preferred with a twist;
Kyan
Zyan
But dh would NOT consider those names.

Hardly it’s a totally different spelling !

Idve met a zephyr which I thought was really cool also a zephiniah. Ezra, Dante and Amari are all lovely but my favourite is Romello.
