Honest opinions of this name for a baby girl?

I wanted this name badly !

BF said no, along with every other member of the family. ( all old enough to talk about some woman from a programme called ‘On the buses’ or something?!

Ah, there she is! I'm old enough to remember On the Buses, but I still love the name. I used to hate it, but it's grown on me recently.

A lot depends on your surname. If it's 'Stone' or 'Bathroom' then Olive might not be ideal.

I love it! Used to know an old lady called Olive Green.

I like it though it’s very popular cousin Olivia is everywhere and I do mean everywhere.

I’m torn. I feel like the way it’s spelt and all the vowels should make it pretty, but somehow it feels ugly and grumpy to me.

It's a divisive one I think. A bit severe for my taste but I love 'Olivia'.

Weirdly, until I'd read this thread, I'd never considered the two names as related to each other. One of those obvious things that dawns on you every now and then!

It's 'On the Buses' or Olive Oyl from Popeye for me but that's an age thing.
Kids wont know who those characters are.

Is your surname Green and / or do you already have a son called Basil?

If not then go for it.

I know someone who just carer daughter that. I’m not that keen. I prefer Olivia, although I know it’s a much more common name. (Common as in frequent!)
