Names for a second girl...

We already have an Isabel and looking for second girl names.

We always loved Isabel, and while disheartened about its popularity, loved it so much more than any other names we used it anyway. Stuck about a second, though. Our surname is tricky - begins with S and ends with an "uh" sound, think a bit like Salter - so it's hard to find names that flow with it.

Our favourite and frontrunner is Rosa. We love Rose but don't think it works with the surname - Rosa is a question mark too but seems to work a little better? Not so keen on the other "Ros-" names. Rosanna and Rosemary are ok but we don't like them quite as much. Could we get away with Rose or Rosa?

You have some lovely names on your list. I love Delphine and Eloise. How about Rosalind for the Rose name.

Oh I thought Poppy when I read Isabel and glad to see it's on your list.

I like Rose or Rosa best! I think it will be fine with your surname.

How similar to Salter is your surname? Because I think Rose Salter sounds better than Rosa Salter, personally.

Isabel and Isla - too similar. Both Izzy nicknames.

Rosina is another ‘Rose’ alternative, I only know one, but always thought it a pretty name. (But I love all rose names! DC3 would have been Rosie Eleanor if a girl).

Congrats OP Rosa is lovely, if I had had a daughter I love the names Verity or Felicity, I had two gorgeous DS’ so never got a chose a girls name.

My DD is Poppy and I still love it just as much 13 years later (and she loves her name too).

Rosita is a very underused “Rose” name, and breaks up the sssssss between Rose and Salter.

Oops, just realised you already have an Isabel, I read too fast and thought you'd rejected it as a name for this baby.

Rose or Rosa would be OK I think, it's a harder s than the soft S of Salter/variant.
