I think I've fallen in love with Harper.....
I was initially so disappointed about Matilda but Harper just feels right.
What do you all think to N o a h and Harper?
The only other name I like is Summer. N o a h and Summer?
Could you call a baby Summer if she is born outside of the May to August timeframe? As that worries me that people will pass comment about it.

Why of the two names do you prefer and why?

Thank you!

I love both Harper and Summer and think both work well with Noah
It doesn’t matter when a baby is born. Anyone can be called Summer.
Summer Winter and Autumn have all become fairly mainstream names now and sound more like a name rather than a season to me now I’ve met a couple - lovely

MissMarks · 21/04/2020 23:19

Don’t like Summer or Harper personally- think they are faddy.

GlamGiraffe · 21/04/2020 23:40

I know a summer who ismt a summer baby. I've never thought anything of it, its just a name, I opulent let that influence me. I also know a Harper, older than most if the Harpers you hear if who are all young children, this one is a male, it was originally a male or at least unisex name. It's much more common in girls now of course. Both names go with noah so whichever feels right. I fo like Matilda (tilly) though too.

Imonlydoingwhatican · 21/04/2020 23:43

I know someone with both a summer and harper.. love the names

emptyplinth · 21/04/2020 23:47

I think Matilda goes better with Noah.
They're both classic names, Harper will sound out of date in a couple of years.

MrsSnitchnose · 21/04/2020 23:51

Not keen on Summer. I like Harper, but it's been claimed by the Beckhams so that alone would make it a no for me

IdblowJonSnow · 21/04/2020 23:55

Prefer Summer of the two.

Moongirl10 · 21/04/2020 23:56

I think they are both beautiful, but would go with Harper.

Chienloup · 21/04/2020 23:58

Love Summer and Harper. But I couldn't personally use Harper after the Beckhams did.

Megan2018 · 22/04/2020 00:00

Agree, the Beckhams have ruined Harper.
Summer is ok, it’s a bit meh though.
Matilda is much prettier.

Astronica · 22/04/2020 00:07

Summer is my strong favourite of those - lovely name. It doesn't matter at all when Summer is born - it's a regularly used name irrespective of season. I dislike Harper and find it quite faddy.

wheresthehope · 22/04/2020 00:16

I have a Noah Ray. My girl name is Evelyn Harper

babynamelover · 22/04/2020 00:20

Ultimately you should go with what you love 😊.
Personally I prefer Summer to Harper.

DramaAlpaca · 22/04/2020 00:27

Matilda is the nicest of the three, by a long way.
I don't think of Summer as a name, it just sounds odd used that way.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to be brutally honest. I think Harper is horrid. It's a faddy name as someone said above, and just another example of the weird trend of using surnames as female first names. It also makes me think of the mythical creature the harpy, and of people harping on about something, so not pleasant associations.

But OP, if you like it use it. Make a decision, woman!

123Dancewithme · 22/04/2020 00:44

Matilda is much nicer than the other two.

MrsP2015 · 22/04/2020 00:52

Love harper.

Was on my list but too related to the beckhams which now I don't think it's so beckham related as people use it but I've only heard of 1. I'd use it.

daisypond · 22/04/2020 01:12

Matilda is the only one I would consider. Summer is OK. Doesn’t need to be born in summer.
Never Harper.

AnyaMoondial · 22/04/2020 05:56

I really like Summer. It is a cheerful name.

incywincyspiders · 22/04/2020 06:26

I know a Summer born on the winter solstice 😂😊

summersun7 · 22/04/2020 14:14

Thank you all.
I met a Harper and it suited her. She reignited my spark for the name.
However, I think having a daughter called Summer is probably more me.
Ive been using the name Summer all day and it just feels right.
To all those who suggested Matilda.... as per my previous post, I don't feel I can use that name anymore. Im sad but I've just got to move on..

Summer, Matilda and Harper are all gorgeous
You might like Jemima or Sadie too but sounds like you’re sorted with Summer now - gorgeous

Ritascornershop · 22/04/2020 15:08

Many of us won’t have read your previous, so not sure why you’re not using Matilda (but to me it’s far and away the nicest of the 3). Summer over Harper for sure, I really, really dislike last names as first names, especially on girls.

AfterSchoolWorry · 22/04/2020 15:13

Summer is lovely.

Harper isn't!

summersun7 · 22/04/2020 16:00

@Ritascornershop sadly someone close to me has used the name. A few people have said use it anyway, however I don't feel comfortable doing that. Its a common name, these things happen. Just have to accept and move on.

@Whatsyourflava I do like Jemima, just not keen on Jem or Jemma, which will be inevitable nicknames.

I'm beginning to feel like I love Summer more than Matilda now :-)
