Don't love girls names...

So, we have whittled our list for boys down to: Rupert, Felix, Jasper, Jago, Edward, Austen and I've snuck Quentin in there.

We are having so much trouble even liking girl names along a similar vein. We'd like them to be recognisable names but ideally not popular as like most, we'd like them to be the only one in their class. No names feel right to us at the moment and I already feel like I've read a million and one names sites, forums and lists but can't find the one.

I'm hoping you lovely lot can help?!

Love Constance. Would this go with a C surname (two syllables)? :/

stormsurfer · 21/04/2020 12:41

Constance is lovely... but whether it goes depends on the actual surname!

stormsurfer · 21/04/2020 12:42

Oh and if you would like cee cee as a nickname?

ThePluckOfTheCoward · 21/04/2020 12:47

Beatrice
Nancy
Imogen
Verity
Thomasina
Ingrid

FaithHopeandGlory · 21/04/2020 12:56

@stormsurfer I absolutely love CeCe. Surname is unusual so difficult to say without outing myself. It is a harder C name the same as Constance, rather than an S sound or Ch etc. I don't know if I can narrow that down anymore...

Constance Collins
Constance Clarkson
Constance Crowley
Constance Carson
Constance Carter
Constance Clarkson

Those are some similar surnames to give an idea. What do you think? We would have middle names too.

OP posts:
stormsurfer · 21/04/2020 12:58

Well, I for one think that it goes very well with those surnames and also love cee cee!

love Constance ❤️

Whatsyourflava · 21/04/2020 15:02

Not keen on Constance. Just makes me think of two horrible words mixed together : “constipation” and “incontinence” @FaithHopeandGlory Sorry 🙈

FaithHopeandGlory · 21/04/2020 15:15

I'll update with a new list of favourites still not in love with any. So tough.

Constance
Claudia
Lara
Philippa

DH only likes Lara of the above.

I am really struggling here :(

OP posts:
stormsurfer · 21/04/2020 15:38

Clara would give you the C for CeCe and also the Lara for your DH?

Whatsyourflava · 21/04/2020 15:44

Lara is lovely. I really love Clara too

FaithHopeandGlory · 21/04/2020 16:05

Thanks both. As you can see below, we have a C surname so I wasn't totally sure about a C first name. Otherwise I think I would be sold on Clara.

merryhouse · 21/04/2020 16:31

Adelaide

Melissa

Jacqueline

PixieN · 21/04/2020 18:28

Lara is lovely and Philippa could be shortened to Pippa. I don’t think it will matter if you pick Clara and have a surname beginning with C too. Will you have a middle name?

Seraphina is unusual for another option.

FaithHopeandGlory · 21/04/2020 18:38

@PixieN yes we would have a middle name.. I'm just worried it would sound a David Davies type of name!

Clara Cartland
Clara Collins
Clara Cunningham

Hmm they sound quite nice! Claudia is also pretty...

Eternally confused :/

OP posts:
FaithHopeandGlory · 21/04/2020 18:39

@PixieN Seraphina is lovely. Don't know if DH will be on board with it though but I really like it

OP posts:
limpbizkit · 21/04/2020 18:42

Harriet

FaithHopeandGlory · 22/04/2020 08:37

@limpbizkit I love the name Harriet, although I had a friend called Harriet who was always just a called Harr, which I think takes away from the beautiful name. Thank you for the suggestion though

Just read your updates.

I don't like illiterate names, so C is out for me.

Claudia is a great name, I used to really love it, but then I heard a different pronunciation and that put me off.

Don't give her something too horrible (thinking Constance) I doubt she will love it and thank you for it.

What about:

April
Danielle
Alana
Melanie
Megan
Emmeline
Jordana
Stephanie
Louisa
Antoinette
Hermoine
Kirstie
