Brother for Magnus

Any suggestions, please, folks? We have a Magnus, and I just can’t think of anything I love as much. I do like names which maybe have a bit of an historical connection, although that’s certainly not essential. Someone on here suggested Wulfric the other day, which I absolutely love, but I have a sneaking suspicion I’m not quite cool enough to carry that off. So I’m looking for something on the same, very mildly bonkers level as Magnus. Also looking for something very masculine. Thank you for any ideas!

I love Bror, as another Scandi option. It's a Swedish name meaning little bear.

Scandi, masculine....Thor ?

Orphlids · 17/04/2020 18:56

@PaulinePetrovaPosey, thank you, that is rather good, but I’m hoping to find something that is a little more familiar to people in England. Something that most people here would recognise as an established name.

@RoseHarper, I love Hamish, and have suggested it to DP, but he wasn’t so keen. Would it be odd to pick it, considering we have no Scottish connection?

No, not odd I don't think. I also think Hector or Hugo sound nice if you want to steer away from the Scottish sounding names.

wtftodo · 17/04/2020 19:14

I know a magnus and Hamish, a magnus and Rhuadri (? Rory) and magnus and Fergus
