Hope

Can I just ask for your honest opinions on Hope please?
I keep coming back to it. However, in my head I keep doubting whether it would work on a "real person".
Ive done some googling and some sites say Hope gets nicknames such as Hopefull or worse Hopeless. Which obviously wouldn't be great if there was teasing potential. Hmm....
Also, would Hope go with Noah? Or not really?

I know a Hope, she’s a teenager, and I don’t believe her name her ever given her any grief. Not in a big way anyway. It’s also DD’s middle name, but he is named after the Hope Valley in Derbyshire, where DH and I used to live.

I love it. I know a couple and they both get Hopey as a nickname. I would have used it as a first name except it doesn’t really work with our surname. We used it as a middle name instead and DD has always loved it and been really attached to it. She has said plenty of times that she actually prefers it to her first name. We use it almost as a double barrelled name for her a lot because it does go so well with her first name and she loves it so much

I love Hope and think it goes well with Noah!

Literally every name has teasing potential and if you find one that doesn't, the child can get teased for something else.

I know a few Hope’s all between 11-25. Never had a problem as far as I’m aware.

It's one of those names where the meaning is lovely but the sound is ugly, like Grace.

I like Hope very much, but it only sounds nice in certain accents.

It’s not a nice sound, it’s barely even a syllable, more of a noise, and I’ve heeard people with English accents putting an inflection type noise in it, to try to drag it out more, like hoOOpe. It’s been very commonly used for years, along with grace, rose, may/mai/mae/rae etc.etc.

I love it. Love the simplicity of it, the gentle sound it makes, the meaning. Sounds great with Noah.

I like it a lot. It’s not commonly used at all and the meaning is nice. It goes very well alongside Noah as a type of Puritan/Protestant name.

I love it, taught a few and they've always been lovely girls but maybe not if you are northern and its gonna sound like "ooorpe" (nothing against northerners, love the accent but it changes the name)

Hope is a lovely name, I have met a few girls with it as a first or middle name, and one boy, which surprised me but then again why not?
