Classy but unusual girls names?

HKCLARK · 09/04/2020 10:40

Morning!

I've got a few threads going asking for opinions on the names Lorelei, Aurelia, Romilly, Orea & Leonie however we've still not even come close to whittling down a list of names for our baby girl And she's due in May.

Does anyone have any new suggestions for a classy but unusual girls name?

Our surname is Clark.

Thanks!! ☺️

How about Ophelia?

Ophelia Clark sounds nice :) x

My girl is Tabitha but a second would have been Beatrix.
I think Beatrix Clark sounds nice.

Marianne. I know a little girl called Marianne and now I'm jealous that I didn't use it myself!

Celine Clark. Or spell it Selene (classier, I think) but obviously you lose the alliteration then.
Genevieve Clark.
Constance Clarke.
Verity Clark.
Diana Clark. Diana is definitely due a comeback. Wonder Woman!

Pipandmum · 09/04/2020 10:52

Well I obviously like Pippa. Not unusual in one sense but in a school of 875 she's the only one. Born in May too!

TheVanguardSix · 09/04/2020 10:52

I was going to say Aurelia! Aurelia Clark sounds wonderful!

SE13Mummy · 09/04/2020 11:27

It really depends on your definition of classy! Your suggestions would be names I'd describe as being 'frilly' - possibly because of the girls I know with those names (I don't know anyone called Orea though). For girls, I personally prefer names that don't have an 'ee' or 'uh' sound at the end so would go for something along the lines of:

Agnes
Alice
Beatrice
Bethan
Charlotte
Constance
Elinor
Eve
Florence
Harriet
Imogen
Iris
Jane
Mabel
Madeleine
Margot
Megan
Miriam
Olive
Rachel
Robyn
Susan

I think imogen Clark works well and if you like nicknames, there's Immie, Mo and Jenny.
