Would be pronouced SESS-ul or SEE-sul. I like both ways!

BackforGood · 05/04/2020 00:04

Awful.

Never heard of it being pronounced anyway other than Sess - ul though.

mrselizabethdarcy · 05/04/2020 00:11

Not keen OP.

Reginabambina · 05/04/2020 00:12

Make me think of Lord Burghley

Anoisagusaris · 05/04/2020 00:13

Awful.

In the same vein as Percy IMO.

ofwarren · 05/04/2020 00:18

Oh no. I generally like "old man" names, but not this one.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 05/04/2020 00:20

Why?

Midnightdream · 05/04/2020 00:24

Percy was a choice until my dad told me the slang word and I was horrified lol.

I have Albus, Albert? I have 2 names for a girl(dont know the gender yet) but it's so hard soon as I saw DS name it was meant to be.

@Wewearpinkonwednesdays

I love 1900-1930 names. I prefer the older names.

Ellmau · 05/04/2020 00:31

I think both are acceptable but SESSil is how I would say it.

Not Albus - too Harry Potter.

Alban?

Juanmorebeer · 05/04/2020 00:33

I like it. I went out with a guy with the name and he went by Ces, pronounced Sess. It was cool.

How about Walter or Victor?

Midnightdream · 05/04/2020 00:35

Alban is very nice!

Walter reminds me of Breaking Bad(I loved it so no judgement here lol) victor is a no!

Cecil is not great tbh. It sounds like a cat hissing.
What about Sidney?

ElphiasDoge · 05/04/2020 02:49

I think it means blind one. Depending on how important meanings are to you.

FluffyEggsontoast · 05/04/2020 07:13

Hate the string Sssssss sound in Cecil
What’s your other DCs name

I love Percy by the way. It’s getting more mainstream. I would use it.

FluffyEggsontoast · 05/04/2020 07:14

Sidney nn Sid is nice

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 05/04/2020 07:19

Really awful! Sorry.

daisypond · 05/04/2020 07:21

Not keen on Cecil
Walter and Alban are good.
Roland?

Carrie7469 · 05/04/2020 07:24

I think it’s awful

KatherineJaneway · 05/04/2020 07:25

Not Walter, nn is Wally. Not good for a kid.

Albus will mark you as a Harry Potter fan. I like Albert though.

SnowdropFox · 05/04/2020 08:07

Basil
Chester
Horace
Wilbur
Milton nn Mitt

SnowdropFox · 05/04/2020 08:07

WelcometoCranford · 05/04/2020 09:08

My Dad is a Cecil btw.

Midnightdream · 05/04/2020 09:13
