What do people think of this? I have always loved the name but as always find myself playing devil's advocate when a decision is required...!

My criteria are in no particular order:

Scottish
Doesn't end in "S" or "sh"
Doesn't sound like a surname
Not too popular (I live abroad so Rory not common here)

OP posts:

I love it and would have liked it for DS1 but it didn't go with our surname.

Scottish names that I love are Alistair, Fraser and Angus.

GertiMJN · 01/04/2020 20:28

Great name!

muttonjeffmum · 01/04/2020 20:35

Love the name Rory. I have a grown up one and everyone adores him. It was unusual when he was at school. Apparently means red-headed one in Gaelic.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 01/04/2020 20:39

SirVixofVixHall · 01/04/2020 20:49

Love Rory. For some reason I think a Rory would always be kind, reliable, and good tempered !

And he is very roary 😂

Sandsnake · 01/04/2020 20:58

Love! DD would have been a Rory if she’d been a boy.

LostInTheColonies · 01/04/2020 21:53

DD would have been Rory or Euan. Love love love both names.

If I'd been particularly brave I'd have gone with Ruaridh and possibly consigned the child to a lifetime of spelling out their very excellent name. Grin

I have one, he's fab :) we'd actually veto'd the name while I was pregnant then when he was born I just decided (as one gets to after 2 days of labour) that I liked it and it was his name. Its perfect.

DramaAlpaca · 01/04/2020 22:04

Whatsyourflava · 01/04/2020 22:11
