Middle name for indie?

Hello, a bit of a different post with all the chaos right now but trying to take my mind off it by deciding dd (due next month) name. Pretty much decided on indie ( although if you hate it do say so and why!!). I’m struggling to decide on a middle name- I want something cute and one syllable I think, so far i like Rose, Grace and Skye. Which do you prefer and why?/ any other suggestions?
Thanks 😊

Sorry OP. Indie or Indy is quite sweet but as pp I'd use India as the real name.

Indie Skye is too similar to In Disguise and In The Sky
Indie Rose - In the rows?
Indie Grace too similar to In Disgrace

SpaceSharkTea · 27/03/2020 17:53

I agree that one syllable names go well with Indie

How about:

Indie Jade
Indie Paige
Indie Grace
Indie Kaye
Indie Wren
Indie June
Indie May
Indie Rae
Indie Kate
Indie Rose

grumpypug · 27/03/2020 18:03

Indie sounds like a nn to me so I'd give her a longer name that you could shorten to Indie. Also think carefully about middle names (for the reasons above).

Thanks for the helpful comments those who have left them 😊, not really appreciating people laughing at my name choice for my daughter 😔 hey-ho, I suppose I set myself up for it!

Crazynurse98 · 27/03/2020 19:20

Not sure why my username has changed- this is op by the way x

Lmbunny · 27/03/2020 19:23

Just from reading your title I thought Indie Rose ..so from your list I would say Rose. It seems to fit it nicely Smile

Oh and congratulations! & good luck Flowers Smile

DiploCat1 · 27/03/2020 19:45

Indie Rose! Just because my second dd is called India Rose and her 2.5 year old big sister calls her "Indie Wose". We're not sure why she insists on using her middle name, but it's very cute!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/03/2020 20:37

Mike, I’m normally a real deep thinker with names, but I never would have thought of that until you pointed it out.

I agree that India would be better and any of those middle names will go far better than they do with Indie.

Indie Sofia
Indie Belle
Indie Jane
Indie Jade
Indie Emilia
Indie Beau
Indie Frances
Indie Lucille

A sibling's child was given a nn based on his name as soon as he went to school. We wouldn't even have thought of it.

It was something like Neil being nn Nellie. I've posted this before and got several " No Neil gets nicknamed Nellie" replies, but how come I know several? It wasn't a regional thing as I move about the country. It's because I am of the Neil age group.

The middle name isn't all that important. Most of the people I know either really like their mn, detest it, or if it's a filler name just think it's meh.

If your surname is a noun, try saying it with just the surname. Indie Smith might get Indiana Jones remarks all her life, Indie Hall might get Indie Bedroom or something. Life is like that, people are like that. I'll even admit to having asking " Are you related to [famous person]?"

Indie seems a sweet name, not too unusual or too popular.

IVflytrap · 27/03/2020 23:14

Indie Joy
Indie Briony
Indie Louise
Indie Rosalind
Indie Maeve
Indie Marie
Indie Martha

Rose is very common as a middle name these days... even so, I have to admit it goes particularly nicely with Indie as a first name.

whatausername · 27/03/2020 23:22

Ooh, Indie Rosalind is pretty. I wouldn't do cutesy + cutesy OP, she'll only be a cute baby for a short-time. She'll have many decades as a grown woman :-)

historygeek12 · 27/03/2020 23:25

We have an Indianna (she's 26) who we call Indie her middle name is caroline xx I just fell in love with the name when i was pregnant and that was it :)

SetMeFree40 · 27/03/2020 23:33

Indie Rose is a lovely name.

Cindie943811A · 27/03/2020 23:51

@spacesharktea did you really mean to suggest Indie Kate because your other suggestions were very sensible.
I agree with other posters that although Indie is very pretty that it is perhaps too liable to be ridiculed and India might be preferable.
Good luck

calllaaalllaaammma · 27/03/2020 23:58

Indie Aalia
Indie Arya
Indie Olivia
Indie Abigail
Indie Erin
Indie Isla

RuPaula · 28/03/2020 11:58

I think I’d go with a longer middle name because a lot of one syllable names do sound like ‘a thing’ or a word. Also a PP suggested Beau, that’s a boys name.
Maybe Matilda, Annabel, Jessica, Sophia?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/03/2020 12:18

Assuming you’re not already a comedienne you should be on the bleeding stage. GrinGrinGrin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/03/2020 12:18

That was to Patricia

PoorlyWeasels · 28/03/2020 12:33

I would be inclined to go with India or Indiana as the actual name, with Indie as the nickname. Gives you more scope for the middle name.

Rose as a middle name has become ubiquitous and the new Jane or Ann or Louise. Grace and Skye both sound stupid with Indie because they make a word. Whereas India Grace is pretty.

India Tess
India Pearl
Indiana Star
Indiana Claire

Whatsyourflava · 28/03/2020 13:42

Just wanted to say LOVE the name Indie - one of my favourites
