Kizette for girl

Symes · 27/03/2020 16:35

My wife is 14 weeks pregnant.

Don't know gender yet but I have been thinking of M and F names.

One that has stuck out in my mind is 'Kizette'. Maybe 'Kiz' for short.

I think something a little unique would be good for my kid but I don't want it to be weird. Some outsider perspective would be good.

I have done some Googling and it seems as if there is literally only one other person who's had that name before.

The first holiday my wife and I went on was to Paris. We went to the George Pompidou Centre which has a lot of modern art, including stuff by an artist called Tamara de Lempicka. She had a daughter called Kizette. Tamara de Lempicka isn't my favourite artist but I knew her paintings and was surprised and pleased when I found the originals, and I guess seeing them in Paris sparked my interest in art and art history.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

As a nickname I like Kizzy, Kiz but Kizette sounds like a brand name to me, maybe for tissues or sanitary protection. Sorry, not that my opinion matters.

Foxglovesandprimroses · 27/03/2020 16:43

It just sounds like a you-nique spelling of Cosette or a brand of contraceptive pill.

Foxglovesandprimroses · 27/03/2020 16:44

If you like Kiz, why not Keziah?

AlexaShutUp · 27/03/2020 16:45

Sorry, but I think it's horrible. Agree that it sounds like a brand name.

CassieAuLait · 27/03/2020 16:46

A brand name for a contraceptive pill, or perhaps incontinence pants was what immediately sprang to mind.

You could earn a fortune as a branding consultant, OP!

CassieAuLait · 27/03/2020 16:47

Keziah is nice.

As is Kitty.

TeaMilkNoSugarThanks · 27/03/2020 16:47

All of the above.

Plus being very easily Googleable isn't always a good thing.

Aerielview · 27/03/2020 16:47

Sounds like 'cassette' to me

Carrie7469 · 27/03/2020 16:51

No, no, no. It's not even a name. I'm sorry, but it's dreadful

Mrsfrumble · 27/03/2020 16:52

What about Kismet? It’s Turkish and means destiny. Kiz or Kizzy would work well as nicknames.

AdoptedBumpkin · 27/03/2020 16:54

Hmm, not one I would consider, but each to their own.

LimpidPools · 27/03/2020 16:55

I thought contraception pill. Sorry.

Kismet is not a good alternative either.

Marcipex · 27/03/2020 16:56

Kizzy is nice. Lisette is nice.

user1493494961 · 27/03/2020 16:57

Beyond awful.

Meltedwellie · 27/03/2020 16:59

In real life I would have to say to you, oh, yes that’s unusual isn’t it? But if you want the truth, it’s awful, don’t do it to your child.

NastyOldBag · 27/03/2020 16:59

It sounds like a brand of razors. I’m not sure I follow your guide of wanting something ‘a little unique’ Confused.

Elieza · 27/03/2020 16:59

Kizzy is nice but spell checker wants to change it to Lizzie!

Soontobe60 · 27/03/2020 17:00

Sounds too much like kiss it!

ByAppointmentTo · 27/03/2020 17:00

No, don't do it. Your child will never forgive you.

Sally872 · 27/03/2020 17:00

Lovd Cosette, or Kiz even Kizzy as nick names. Not a fan of Kizette.

Not so weird I would be shocked by it, or comment if you weren't asking for opinions. But I don't like it.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/03/2020 17:01

Contraceptive pill is what first sprang to mind as well.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/03/2020 17:02

Kizette better!

MikeUniformMike · 27/03/2020 17:33

Cassette nn. Cassie.

If you like Kizette, you could use it.

Kizzy is better.
