What do you think of this name?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

V close to peppa and also sounds like an upper class twit

Lavenderblues · 06/03/2020 10:51

I really dislike it.

dampplug · 06/03/2020 10:51

I love Pippa. I know the most adorable one and I think it's a really sweet name. Would also suit an older girl and adult.

Whatsyourflava · 06/03/2020 12:04

Doesn’t it mean Vag or BJ or something?

Ingridla · 06/03/2020 12:07

Not keen, sorry

LeviJeans11 · 06/03/2020 12:39

Awful. Just a sound and that sound it's very nice

inicecoldblood · 06/03/2020 12:40

A girl I know is called Philippa but nickname is Pippa.

123Dancewithme · 06/03/2020 13:23

Prefer it short for Philippa

Pentium85 · 06/03/2020 13:25

Was my 2nd girls name choice, I love it

daisypond · 06/03/2020 13:25

I like it. But it doesn’t travel well.

FriedasCarLoad · 06/03/2020 13:29

Love it as a NN, with Philippa on the birth certificate.

DropYourSword · 06/03/2020 13:29

I love it

IdblowJonSnow · 06/03/2020 13:32

I also really like it but it does make me think of Pippa Middleton - or Poppa as they say on the Windsors!

DoctorBambino · 06/03/2020 14:22

I really don't like it and like the full Philippa even less

thefarrierswife · 06/03/2020 15:08

We used it. Philippa on birth certificate but everybody calls her Pippa. I think it can be a full name on it's own and sometimes wish we hadn't bothered with Philippa as we never call her that and everyone bar family thinks she's just Pippa anyway.

I still love it, haven't met another young Pippa yet. Suits a baby, young child but I think it will fit a teenager or adult too.

I've only ever heard the other meanings in other languages on here, in real life it doesn't seem to pose a problem although I'm sure others think otherwise. Could always go by Philippa or Pip if it was a problem though.

datasgingercatspot · 06/03/2020 15:10

It's a nickname.

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 06/03/2020 16:14

Philippa is very British. i work with one abroad and no-one knows how to say it (English speaking country) or if she's a girl or not Hmm

Astronica · 06/03/2020 22:05

I love it.

ShrimpSymphony · 06/03/2020 22:07

Don’t like it all

Lobsterquadrille2 · 06/03/2020 22:14

Not keen, sorry. It reminds me of the Pippa dolls I had as a child and somehow doesn't have a satisfying sound as a name.

snowone · 06/03/2020 22:18

I love Pippa - also Pipa and shortened to Pip. I wanted it on our list but DH disliked it!

johnwayneisbigleggy · 06/03/2020 22:23

It's a dogs name - or a small version of a Sindy doll. Very dated

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2020 00:48

Not at all good in several European languages.

I do like Philippa though.

Rubybluesy · 07/03/2020 00:52

I like it!

morethanmeetstheeye · 07/03/2020 01:14

I like it but... to me it's a dog's name. Really sorry x
