Having a c-section tomorrow. Non ID twin girls. Have narrowed it down to the following:

Nina and Ella
Nina and Anna - our favourite two names but are they too similar?
Nina and Frida
Nina and Rosa

Nina is non-negotiable as it is very significant to us.

Nina and Rosa 😍

EmmaGrundyForPM · 26/02/2020 19:28

Nina and Rosa sound lovely.

I think Nina and Anna are too similar and Nina and Frida both have the "i" sound which isnt great.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 26/02/2020 19:29

Also, if you go for Nina and Rosa, the firstborn should be Rosa

Surfer25 · 26/02/2020 19:29

Nina is awful

So no help here

Doodlesquah1 · 26/02/2020 19:29

Rosa

MadisonAvenue · 26/02/2020 19:33

It's hard to choose!

Nina works beautifully with both Anna and Rosa.

Congratulations!

Sakura7 · 26/02/2020 19:39

No reason not to go for your favourites, Nina and Anna.

I do love the name Frida (might be in a minority here) but I'd spell it with an 'e' instead of an 'i'.

Mamabear88 · 26/02/2020 19:40

I like Nina and Rosa best but if you like Anna better go with that x

TatianaLarina · 26/02/2020 19:41

Anna and Rosa

Sakura7 · 26/02/2020 19:42

Why are some people suggesting not using Nina, when OP is clear that Nina is a definite? Confused

brieandcrackers · 26/02/2020 19:44

Love Nina & Anna but the pairing also makes me think of ITV journalist Nina Nannar... I appreciate that not everyone will make this link though Grin adore Nina and Rosa!

Congratulations and good luck OP!

freddiethegreat · 26/02/2020 19:48

How do you decide which twin gets the hugely significant name and which one gets the last minute afterthought name?

I think Nina & Rosa/Rosanna though.

Whatsyourflava · 26/02/2020 19:51

Love all your options except for Frida

Update us! And good luck x

Lonan · 26/02/2020 20:07

Janina (pronounced Ya-nina) and Rosanna. :)

How do you decide which twin gets the hugely significant name and which one gets the last minute afterthought name?

Bit harsh maybe ? OP didn't say the other names aren't significant too, just that they had picked one and weren't interested in changing.

Frankly I can understand why she made that clear from the start, seeing as so many people either don't read or don't care about what she's actually asking for.

As for waiting to see the babies to decide, I personally don't think babies look like any names or suit any specific names, it's the other way around. The name you pick ends up suiting them after a while.

Back to the subject, OP, I don't think Nina and Anna are necessarily too similar. While they do have two letters in common, the double n of Anna puts an emphasis on this sound that you don't hear in Nina, which works to differentiate the names.

But if it bothers you, I'd go for Rosa/Rosanna.

They're all really nice names, I like Rosa, best to go with Nina. Rosa and Nina sounds lovely.

I'd avoid Ella though-to go with Nina, I normally like Ella , -but I'd be a bit worried though, if when they were at school, anyone made the association of Ella and Nina, with 'El Nino' the weather, geographical thing- I think it's to do with tides and it affects the weather, particularly if Ella got shortened to Elle, and it could potentially lead to some teasing. I don't think Nina on it's own would at all, but if it was with the name Ella, it might.

Lots of luck with tomorrow, I hope every thing goes well! Flowers

Teacup34 · 26/02/2020 20:16

Nina and Anna or Nina and Rosa are both beautiful. Good luck Flowers

Blue5238 · 26/02/2020 20:17

I agree with Nina and Rosanna. The latter can then be Anna or Rose or Rosa depending on preference and avoiding two two-syllable names stops it being too cutesy-twin-ish

go with your favourites . you may regret not.
both lovely

zxcv123 · 26/02/2020 20:35

I love the name Anna, but I think it's too similar to Nina.

What about Nina & Anoushka?

octoberfarm · 26/02/2020 20:48

Nina and Anna! Or Ella, but I really like Nina and Anna together. Congratulations!

CaffiSaliMali · 26/02/2020 20:59

I like them all, but not a huge fan of Frida.

Nina and Rosa are my favourites, followed by Nina and Anna and then Nina and Ella.

Nina and Rosanna are nice too. Nina would go nicely with any of the Rose names: Nina and Rose, Nina and Rosalie, Nina and Rosalind etc. so either Rosa or Rosanna would work.

whattodo2019 · 26/02/2020 22:43

Nina and Anna
Gorgeous x

MrsP2015 · 26/02/2020 22:50

Nina & Anna don't sound too similar at all. Nice but I prefer Rosa.

You should go with Anna though if you like that most.
