Unless you're a botanist or horticulturalist I'd go with Mirabella.

Sunshiness · 08/02/2020 22:50

Mirabella is lovely

Mimca · 08/02/2020 22:58

Mirabella or better still Mirabelle/Maribel

MyOtherProfile · 08/02/2020 22:59

Aralia is lovely and less fussy than Mirabella. I've only ever heard it pronounced A-ray-lia though.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 08/02/2020 23:18

Never heard Aralia. I find it hard to say. I like Aria though.

I like Mirabella also!

user1493494961 · 08/02/2020 23:36

Do you have a third choice?

Astronica · 09/02/2020 05:48

I can't choose one of those, sorry I dislike both. Aralia is too hard to say, and tricky to get the pronuciation you want, and both are too frilly and over-the-top to me. Aria or Mira or Belle would be better.

mathanxiety · 09/02/2020 05:55

Mirabella.

Arahlia / Aralia both a bit strange.

Mirabella is very lovely.

Twooter · 09/02/2020 05:57

What astronica said, but not Mira.

Pippilsngstrumpf · 09/02/2020 07:19

Aralia

Beatrix33 · 09/02/2020 07:33

Thank you! I love 4 sylabol names and wanted something a little different but not too weird, pretty but able to shotern.
Our son is Raphael (Rapha) The healing arcangel. He was a fertility baby after years. Didn't think it would happen again for me and we now have a beautiful girl who is many times a rainbow. We lost our twin girls in 2018 Worst time of my life.
I've found impossible to find a name for her. I think as she's so special it feels so hard to live up to my feelings for her.
Mirabella has a lovely meaning and Mira is strong for short name and like 'mira' cle
Liked Gatiella but not Gabby and isabella /belle so common.
We liked Aradhaya but spelt like this is too hard to spell. The English spelling has a different meaning. Aradia - whichcraft with father as a devil so partner not happy with that.
I loved Rada for short. Rapha and Rala, cute.
So when I found Aralia I was so happy. Thought we could have Rala for short. Then I realised its pronounced Aray lee uh and I'm not keen on Ray
We loved Arah lee uh sounding.
Now I feel I've been through every name in the world and there isn't one. Feeling sad and overwhelmed. Need to give her a beautiful name.
I liked Beatrix but it's possibly her middle name. I don't 'b' for short.
I liked Evelina but 'evil lina' and my sister has an Evelyn.
I found Estellina meaning star in French but not keen on esta which is what they'll call her over Estel.
She's very cheeky, and smiling now.
Thank you for the comments.

Do you like Evangeline? Hermione?

Congratulations by the way :)

Beatrix33 · 09/02/2020 07:43

Thank you! She's so beautiful.

I suggested Evangeline to partner but he feels its very 80s.
I did like Hermione at one time but don't think it's her.

Do you actuallly mean Aurelia?

Mirabel
Christabel
Amabel

4 syllables
Araminta
Persephone
Hermione
Henrietta
Elizabeth
Cecilia
Cordelia
Alexandra
Olympia
Octavia
Gabriella (has a resonance with Raphael - Gabriel Rosetti and the pre-raphaelites)
Ophelia (also a resonance - v famous painting by one of the Pre- Raphaelites)

Or hust be sensible and call her Jane or Esme.

OhTheRoses · 09/02/2020 07:48

Congratulations btw.

LadyGAgain · 09/02/2020 08:21

Do you mean Aurelia?

Twooter · 09/02/2020 08:24

Beatrix, Trixie for short?

Beatrix33 · 09/02/2020 08:34

Yes Aurelia is the name, meaning 'golden one'
Aralia (Aray lee uh) is a variation of that... Like most names have variations.
Beatrix I feel is lovely for a middle name but wanted something really pretty (but strong) for a first name.
After watching me pushing her out in the birthing pool partner has said I can have any name I like! But he does offer his comments and I really want him to like her name too x
Thank you.

Not fussed on 4 symbols anymore.
Just want a beautiful name!

OP posts:
Bluerussian · 09/02/2020 08:49

Neither.

Bluerussian · 09/02/2020 08:49

How about Aubergine or Marrowflower?

PlantPotting · 09/02/2020 08:51

Love Aurelia

OhTheRoses · 09/02/2020 09:00

Please go with the conventional spelling of Aurelia if you decide on that name.

I do like Ophelia though. And Olympia as you have had a bit of an Olympian feat getting this far. Another strong 4 consonant name that's also oretty is

Victoria or
Lavinia

Bit of a curve ball and a bit made up, from the Borrowers I think but what about Arietty.

Rosalinde
Flora
Verity
Seraphina
Felicity
Anastasia
Natacha
Anouska
Imogen
Penelope
