Opinions on the name? I think it's lovely but my DH isn't a fan

I love the name! Very regal! What does your DH not like about it Confused

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2020 22:16

I like it too.

But OP, if your DH doesn't it has to be off the table, doesn't it?

ComeBackPeterComeBackPaul · 02/02/2020 22:17

Love it. Timeless, classic and yet a bit funky.

ack89 · 02/02/2020 22:21

Well his other son from a previous marriage is called Benjamin so he thinks it would get confusing! I just love the name so much though!

It's one of those names where you can be known as something ordinary like Ben but have a lovely full version. I know one who must be 40 now, nice chap (not the famous one)!

WellHolyGodMiley · 02/02/2020 22:22

I like it.

WellHolyGodMiley · 02/02/2020 22:24

Oh. No, you can't talk your H into having two sons called Benjamin and Benedict.

What about Dominic.

20CMB20 · 02/02/2020 22:24

Love it.

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/02/2020 22:24

Well your second post says why it should be No
2 sons called Ben Confused

Diorissimo1985 · 02/02/2020 22:25

It’s a great name but I think you’re husband is right that his having two sons called Benjamin and Benedict would be confusing/a bit odd

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/02/2020 22:25

Sorry x post

Diorissimo1985 · 02/02/2020 22:26

Dominic good alternative, as pp suggests

AngusDuck · 02/02/2020 22:28

I love the name Benedict, but it would be absolutely ridiculous to have brothers called Benjamin and Benedict. I’m sure you can find another one that you like in the thousands of names available to use!

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2020 22:28

Bit of a drip feed there. No wonder your DH isn't keen.

NunyaBizness · 02/02/2020 22:29

Both are shortened to Ben. So no.

MaxPaddyandHarry · 02/02/2020 22:30

I love it. I really wanted it for DC3 but DH vetoed it.

MaggieFS · 02/02/2020 22:31

Lovely name, but your DH can't have two Bens!

ack89 · 02/02/2020 22:33

I see how it could be confusing but my DH never see's his other son as he lives in Australia so I didn't think it would be an issue. Maybe you're all right though Sad

OP posts:
Tillygetsit · 02/02/2020 22:33

Surely you can see why this is a no go OP!

Nobodyschilds · 02/02/2020 22:34
Hmm
glitterbiscuits · 02/02/2020 22:38

No, OP. Lovely name but you can't use it.

AngusDuck · 02/02/2020 22:42

I know two Benedict’s and one Benjamin and their brothers are called Joseph, Elliot, William and Sebastian. Would any of those work for you?

ComeBackPeterComeBackPaul · 02/02/2020 22:54

Ahh, you didn't declare the Benjamin, that changes my vote to a no!

WellHolyGodMiley · 02/02/2020 23:04

The son would get to hear though! The first son would be like Shock

wtf

Letthemysterybe · 02/02/2020 23:11

Oh come on OP, don’t be ridiculous.
