Strong girls names- if I like these, what else might I like?

Really need to get some options for DD, due in April!

Contenders so far are:

Erica
Erin
Freya
Bethany/Bettany
Alexis

I'm hoping not to repeat our slight mistake with DS- we thought that Sebastian would be a relatively unusual but not too 'out there' name. Turns out it is one of the most popular boys names for his generation in our area of SW London! Confused

Would you consider Andie?

MoreHairyThanScary · 22/01/2020 23:24

I have an Emily but her nn is Millicent which is a fab strong name ( Wish I'd gone with that originally!)

bonusblanket · 22/01/2020 23:30

Does anybody choose names for their meaning, which relates to their individual baby, when born or the in the weeks after birth?

Elliot is nice

Or

Bouncingbelle · 23/01/2020 00:52

I love Eliot for a girl, but I have a real thing for 'boy' names for girls :)

I wanted to call DS Evanne if he was a girl.

Or what about

Caroline
Mirren
Rebecca
Duane
Elin
Frances
Jennifer

Bouncingbelle · 23/01/2020 00:52

Dyane not Duane!

Bloomburger · 23/01/2020 06:46

Harriet

Weekday28 · 23/01/2020 06:51

We had Elliott as our favourite for a boy however our last baby was a girl and I wasnt brave enough to use it for her. However i really wish we had, so if you like it use it. We went for Emily instead.

userabcname · 23/01/2020 07:04

Erin and Freya are very popular. So is Evelyn. How about: Artemis, Esther, Natalia, Hermione

Peachbubble · 23/01/2020 07:54

Astrid

Musmerian · 23/01/2020 07:58

@Cyberworrier - I really wanted to call DD Dorothea but DH not keen. Chose Hester ( The Scarlet Letter) instead.

Mamabear88 · 23/01/2020 08:04

Claudia? I don't like Elliot, Bettany, Dominique or Alexis, sorry OP. Erin, Bethany, Erica, Freya, Eliza and Evelyn are all really lovely though.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 23/01/2020 08:11

From your suggestions I love Eliza!

How about Tess?

olivehater · 23/01/2020 08:18

I have an Erica and I love it. She gets lots of comments and haven’t come across another one yet.
I also liked Claudia, Tessa, Philipa, Cara, Caroline, Josephine, Harriet, Sadie, Lois.

I always think Morven or Mirren are strong girls names.

SE13Mummy · 23/01/2020 10:31

Harriet! Means ruler of the home so is pretty strong.

I tend to think of names with what I call 'definite endings' as sounding stronger than those ending with an 'uh' or 'ee' sound. I'd go for something along these lines...
Alice
Agnes
Astrid
Abigail
Beatrice
Bridget
Charlotte
Constance
Clementine
Ellen
Edith
Eloise
Elise
Evelyn
Emmeline
Florence
Harriet
Imogen
Iris
Isolde
Jasmine
Jocelyn
Josephine
Kate
Lauren
Louise
Meredith
Megan
Madeleine
Margot
Miriam
Olive
Rachel
Robyn
Rosalind
Ruth
Scout
Susan
Violet

Hepsibar · 23/01/2020 10:44

Matilda
Charlotte
Rowena
Cordelia
Gwendolyn
