Which of these two names do you like best? Middle name would be Timothy.
Thanks :)

Both are nice but I think Otto is lovely

Peachbubble · 16/01/2020 17:34

Definitely prefer Jasper

RuthW · 16/01/2020 17:41

Love both but think Jasper goes better

Whatsyourflava · 16/01/2020 18:33

Oh no two of my very favourite names please don’t make me pick

Ok. I’m going To pick jasper as i love gem stone meaning
I don’t know the meaning of Otto maybe it has an equally lovely meaning!

Honestly really isn’t much in it - LOVE

DramaAlpaca · 16/01/2020 18:56

Jasper is nice.

I can't stand Otto, such an ugly looking and sounding name. Sorry.

FamilyOfAliens · 16/01/2020 18:58

Sorry, OP, they both sound like cat names to me.

Grufallosfriends · 16/01/2020 19:03

Jasper

Hate Otto!

CeibaTree · 16/01/2020 19:22

Sorry, OP, they both sound like cat names to me.
Ha! I've noticed that on pretty much any name thread that isn't about a more conventional name such Oliver, George or Jack, someone will come along and make a comment along the lines of it being a cat/dog name - which would be helpful if the OP said 'which of the names I am considering do you think belongs to a human or pet?' :)
Thanks to everyone else for their opinions :) Looks like Jasper is more popular. whatsyourflava Otto means 'wealth/prosperity' apparently.

Both gorgeous.

MikeUniformMike · 16/01/2020 19:26

Jasper is ok, don't like Otto sorry.

elephantoverthehill · 16/01/2020 19:33

Jasper is already taken. I've always had people tell me they've had a dog or a horse called Jasper. Then again somebody on here told me Dd's name was good for a cow!

IVflytrap · 16/01/2020 19:39

Jasper, definitely.

MopsRUs · 16/01/2020 19:55

Jasper is much nicer.

Otto sounds a bit flippant, like blotto, lotto, grotto.

finallychangedmyusername · 16/01/2020 20:14

Both lovely but I prefer the flow of Jasper Timothy.

CustomerCervixDepartment · 16/01/2020 20:30

Do people pronounce ‘t’s or ‘r’s in words where you live? I can think of several accents where Otto would be ‘oddo’ or ‘uh-uh’ (kind of.), and for all the English accents that don’t pronounce ‘r’, it would be ‘jaspah’ 😐

Useful22 · 16/01/2020 20:34

Jasper

MikeUniformMike · 16/01/2020 20:36

O'o sounds dreadful.
Ickle O'o.

PresidentBartlett · 16/01/2020 20:38

Otto is lovely

ChachyFace · 16/01/2020 20:41

Much prefer Jasper

Isbutteracarb · 16/01/2020 20:41

Like both but Jasper goes way better with Timothy than Otto does

Mamahannah2019 · 16/01/2020 20:55

Otto, I absolutely love that! I've heard a few jaspers recently but no Ottos! Go for it! X

Ellmau · 16/01/2020 21:36

Jasper's great.

Otto is very German to me; if you have German heritage or a special reason for picking it, fine, otherwise I wouldn't.

sep30 · 16/01/2020 21:52

Love Otto 😍one of our top boy names x

daisypond · 16/01/2020 21:54

I’m not keen on Jasper. Otto is better.

CeibaTree · 16/01/2020 22:17

@CustomerCervixDepartment surely you could say that about most names though?
