Name 'Pepper'?

My husband came to me and said he loves the name Pepper and I do actually really like it!

What do you think?

My name is Pippa but I get called Pepper a lot - I think most of my work colleagues think my name is Pepper.

I work with a lot of people from Africa and also quite a few from India and I'm not sure if it's a pronunciation thing but a lot seem to struggle to call me Pippa and call me Pepper. Occasionally Piper.

I've given up correcting people and answer to any of those 3 now. Nobody has ever said about Peppa Pig. I get a few Pepe le Pew jokes.

I actually like the sound of it BUT i also travel/wok abroad and Peppa Pig is everywhere! I’m currently in China and it’s even huge here... I don’t think you can escape the pig association!

What made you love it? If I heard someone calling Pepper when out and about I’d honestly expect a dog to come bounding over.

Pepper was on my list for DS2 had he been a girl. I say my list, dh was having none of it.

Interestingly I do genuinely have a Dr. pepper at my GP surgery though.

I know a Spanish lady called Pepa. In the UK, Peppa Pig would be the association.

My immediate thought was Pepper in Good Omens, for whom it’s a nickname from her full name of Pippin Galadriel Moonchild

I absolutely love it. Sassy, cute and unusual. My kids have unusual names and this is why my policy was to not discuss their potential names publicly until they were born as people can be awful about them. 100% your decision. You don't need to justify it with the home school thing. I think of Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper character in Ironman, ste was perfect!
