My husband came to me and said he loves the name Pepper and I do actually really like it!

What do you think?

I'm guessing everyone's going to say noGrin

we travel the world so she will most likely be home schooled

So your strategy for ensuring she isn't teased for her name is to isolate her from other kids? Mm ok Hmm

MothershipG · 13/01/2020 17:13

My dog, and loads of other dogs, but I still love it.

Also know dogs called my DC's names 😂

ilovechocolatebiscuits · 13/01/2020 17:23

@XXcstatic did I say that? No. I said we travel the world so our children will be homeschooled so being bullied at school won't be an issue. Some people on here are ridiculousGrin

Sister has a cat called pepper

Some people on here are ridiculous - a bit like the name Pepper.

Ohyesiam · 13/01/2020 17:27

It’s good as a nick name it shortening, but she might want something with a bit more gravitas every more and then. I have no idea what you’d use though. Peoria?

74NewStreet · 13/01/2020 17:31

It’s a cat’s name. What travelling the world has to do with mitigating the effects of giving your child a naff name is anybody’s guess. Weird...

CosmoK · 13/01/2020 17:31

But surely the child will still come into contact with other children so the potential for bullying still exists?

whitebowls · 13/01/2020 17:33

I think it's lovely. Very cute. If you like it then name her Pepper.

SaintGarbo · 13/01/2020 17:42

I really like it.

Mamabear88 · 13/01/2020 17:44

For a boy or girl? Either way I think pig. I think it's asking to be picked on. Not a fan.

drigon · 13/01/2020 17:47

Quite like it.

Bickles · 13/01/2020 17:47

Call her a normal name eg Philippa and then you and your DH can call her Pepper forever afterwards. At least when she grows up she isn’t stuck with it forever.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/01/2020 17:58

Hello mummy pig. Grin

Lordfrontpaw · 13/01/2020 18:03

Pepper Potts in Ironman (although her name is Virginia).

ZaZathecat · 13/01/2020 18:04

Pepper Anderson was a cool cop in the 70s series Police Woman. No-one thought it was weird then, go for it!

TheYearOfTheDog · 13/01/2020 18:11

I like it! Prefer it to Piper. Cute nn for Penelope

avocadoze · 13/01/2020 18:14

What about Philippa and Pepper as a nickname

golddustwomen · 13/01/2020 18:15

Is she your first?
If she is you will have no idea how much you will dislike peppa pig. Don't do it 😂

Lordfrontpaw · 13/01/2020 18:16

Still better than Bing...

ilovechocolatebiscuits · 13/01/2020 18:17

@golddustwomen no, my second. My first loves Peppa Pig, it's his favourite!

OP posts:
CallofDoodee · 13/01/2020 18:18

Pepper is one of those names that I do quite like, but would never actually lumber a human being with.

neverornow · 13/01/2020 18:19

It's really cute!
If I met someone with the name I would assume it was a nickname or a shortened version of a name like Phillipa

LucaFritz · 13/01/2020 18:21

I'd go with Phillipa nn Pippa. Pepper just makes me think Peppa pig

golddustwomen · 13/01/2020 18:22

I have a 5 and 2 year old and have well and truly gone round the twist with it Grin if your first loves peppa then he will love a little sister pepper!
