Do you like the name Seven for a girl?

My husband and I are curious as to how the first name Seven would be for a girl. The number is significant to us biblically and means the number of completeness, as she will be completing our family. There are many other reasons behind Seven.

Is it too out there, or is it cool?

Thanks for any input! Smile

I like it, but I think the reactions above do give an indication of what you might be up against. It could maybe be a wonderful middle name?

GrannyBags · 30/12/2019 08:28

What is the biblical significance of 7? Could you find another name connected with that?

I instantly thought of the Beckhams.

Besidesthepoint · 30/12/2019 08:31

Would you want to be a number?

AlessandraBumbrosio · 30/12/2019 08:31

No no and no.

MirriMazDuur · 30/12/2019 08:31

She will get people raising their eyebrows her entire life.

Ollypollydolly · 30/12/2019 08:32

@GrannyBags seven/seventh etc is used over 850 times in the bible so it’s considered a special number as it’s used so much

TheoneandObi · 30/12/2019 08:32

Cool?
No
And anyway, who wants a cool name?

beautifulstranger101 · 30/12/2019 08:33

NO

Loveislandaddict · 30/12/2019 08:33

I Immediately thought that, at least in the the next few years, Seven will be pronounced as Len Goodman pronounced it. “Sev-Vernn!”

HandsOffMyRights · 30/12/2019 08:34

No. Reminds me of the film too with Brad Pitt "what's in the box?"

GrannyBags · 30/12/2019 08:41

@Ollypollydolly I knew that, was trying to make that fit with why you would want to use it as a name. There are so many lovely names connected to the Bible.

Stephminx · 30/12/2019 08:42

What @PrettyPurpleFeather said.

Indecisivemom · 30/12/2019 08:44

Okay, okay I hear you. We were also thinking Gemma or Teal. Teal is a family name and Gemma is meaningful as well.

Yes. If you want to ruin your daughter's life chances.

Rainbowqueeen · 30/12/2019 08:45

PLease don’t do it.

The amount of teasing would be awful. Plant 7 trees or have 7 helpings of pudding or something else but don’t inflict that on a child

stellas5 · 30/12/2019 08:46

Deffo not

Shockers · 30/12/2019 08:47

I think a pp’s suggestion of using a name you’re thinking of for yourself for a few days is brilliant.

Introduce yourself as Teal and see what reaction you get...

Ollypollydolly · 30/12/2019 08:48

Teal is awful and Gemma is incredibly dated

Clangus00 · 30/12/2019 08:49

Teal is a colour.
Fuck no, family name or not.

Indecisivemom · 30/12/2019 08:51

@ollypollydolly what is your award winning name choice then?

MissBarbary · 30/12/2019 08:51

Teal is a colour ; or a duck; or even the colour of a duck.

It is marginally less awful than 7.

eatanazurecrayon · 30/12/2019 08:52

I knew a child named seven. Everyone had an opinion on it. She hated it and often made up a name to be called instead. I think it was cruel. Worse if she was a shy personality who couldn't carry it.

Dizzygirl00 · 30/12/2019 08:52

No

DickDewy · 30/12/2019 08:54

Seven and Teal are just idiotic names.

Clafairymon · 30/12/2019 08:55

@LizziesTwin Trek not Wars!
