Festive baby name help!

Hello everyone,

Looking for some urgent baby name help!

Our little girl unexpectedly arrived 3 weeks early just after midnight today.

We had chosen the name Eve (we just love it) Cairistìona (pronounced like Christina, family name) for her, but I feel like we can’t call a Christmas Eve baby Eve Cairistìona!

It’s important to us that we keep Cairistìona, but would you suggest changing Eve? And what to? The other name we loved was Merryn but we ruled that out because of the “Merry Christmas” thing, so I don’t feel we can use that.

I like Meg (but not Megan) or maybe Wren (too out there?) We’d prefer something quite short and simple because of the long complicated middle name.

She is teeny and very dark-haired and olive-skinned (she is quite jaundiced though).

Anything else we might like please, and any thoughts on Meg or Wren?

I think your original choice is beautiful. I don’t think it matters that she was born today.

Congratulations OP Flowers

I think Eve is beautiful. She was born on Christmas Eve so really it makes perfect sense! But given it's such a classic name, it doesn't even matter. Congratulations!

tinsletime · 24/12/2019 15:05

What an absolutely gorgeous name, keep it, it's just perfect

notangelinajolie · 24/12/2019 15:06

Eve sounds just perfect. Congratulations!

Concestor · 24/12/2019 15:07

I think it's lovely that you chose her name and then she came on Christmas Eve. No one will know in everyday life.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 24/12/2019 15:08

Eve was meant to be. Use it. (in daily life nobody will know her birthday).

raspberrycordial · 24/12/2019 15:09

It's perfect, congratulations!

Marlena1 · 24/12/2019 15:09

Love it OP, so fitting. Congratulations xx

Rosere · 24/12/2019 15:11

Absolutely perfect. Beautiful names. Massive congratulations from one Christmas baby to (the mother of) another.

elephantoverthehill · 24/12/2019 15:12

Congratulations OP. My cousin's birthday is today and she is called Sarah Confused but when I read your post I was thinking of Hollie. Eve is a lovely name so don't worry.

Luckingfovely · 24/12/2019 15:13

As pp have all said, why on earth would you consider changing it? It just got even more perfect!

Starlight456 · 24/12/2019 15:14

When I was pregnant girl name was Eve. I still love it.

If you really don’t want Eve what about Eva though personally I would go for Eve

funnyoldonion · 24/12/2019 15:15

Keep it!

funmummy48 · 24/12/2019 15:15

Another vote for Eve....It's perfect. Congratulations!

GreenTulips · 24/12/2019 15:16

Eve is lovely and quite popular there are variations, Eva, Evelyn, what about Ivy?

FestiveNameWoe · 24/12/2019 15:18

Really?! I do still love Eve, but I was just worried it was a bit gimmicky, especially given the middle name. I don’t want her name to be a punchline. But hopefully I’m just overthinking!

So relieved to read these replies, thank you everyone! Eve Cairistìona it is! Grin

Eve is lovely. I like the name Noelle but didn't have a Christmas baby unfortunately!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/12/2019 15:19

Natalie, Holly, Noelle?

I was a Christmas baby but I don’t have a Christmas name. I think it would have been nice to have one.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/12/2019 15:20

Robyn?

seeyoubugaboo · 24/12/2019 15:20

It's perfect

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 24/12/2019 15:21

Beautiful name, congratulations! We have Christina as one of dds middle names, also a family name, and I think it’s due a comeback, such a pretty sounding name

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 24/12/2019 15:21

I would keep Eve it’s lovely. I wouldn’t make the associated between the name and Christmas even unless you pointed it out.

Huge congratulations. What a lovely early Christmas gift! X

JustASmallTownCurl · 24/12/2019 15:22

I'm a christmas(ish) baby with a Christmas name and I love it!

Eve is absolutely gorgeous and it's really sweet she even fits with the date.

Hopefully you can see by the responses on here that even if people notice the connection with the date they'll just think it's even more lovely!

CatteStreet · 24/12/2019 15:24

Stick with your chosen name. Or how about Natalia?

FestiveNameWoe · 24/12/2019 15:25

Yes, I’m so glad I posted! Happy birthday to all you other Christmas babies Smile
