Juno, Lilias, Laurel or Evangeline

I am boring people on here, I'm so sorry of you've already read my threads with debate around Evangeline already 🙈 But I felt her kicking today for the FIRST TIME and suddenly felt like 'I must have a name for you!' Very hormonal no doubt. This is the shortlist, Juno is new.
DP likes Lilias and Evangeline best, I like Evangeline least because of the shortenings.

I didn't say you'd made it up, I just explained that having never heard the name before I wouldn't know the pronunciation. If you go with the name then your daughter will meet may like myself who would think it was Lily-ass.

Yeah, sorry. As with most other people, I would have pronounced Lilias as lily-ass. It's the phonics. Can't be helped.

I'm another who would assume it's Lily-ass, sorry OP.

I was bullied horrendously at primary school due to my initials, which were ET. I was six or seven when the film came out and everyone found it oh-so-hilarious to call me ET. I have never ever watched the film because now aged 42 I still have a grudge against it! Seriously, I know children can pick up on anything to make fun of, but I really would be aware of a name that could be made fun of because surely it's an instant easy target.

I thought Lilias was reasonably known as a name, a bit like Elspeth perhaps. I know two adult ones, one in their 30s, another in their 50s, and a baby one.

Juno is my favourite.

I like Evangeline best especially because it's my 2nd dds middle name.
Juno is really cool I love it. Don't like Lilias or Laurel tbh.
My parents disapproved of all 4 of my kids names but they've got used to them in the end!

I like Laurel best from your list. Lilias is fine (surely people don’t say Nickel-ass for Nicholas? It’s no more difficult than that).

Laurel by a country mile. It's a lovely name.

Juno sounds like a name for a pet rather than a person. Evangeline is OK but a bit frilly and she will just end up being another "Evie." Lillian--Lilly-Ass.

@LarkDescending the two Nicholas’ I knew growing up were teased a lot and people used to say they were Nicker Less (as in had no pants on)

I love them all. Least fave is Evangeline as there are a lot of them. Fave is Laurel.

I agree with you about the name calling. I have a very run of the mill name but it was still turned into a mean nickname. My son has a name which is ripe for bullying but never has been.

My favourite is Laurel. Juno is fine, but reminds me of the film. I don't really like Lilias or Evangeline.
