I am boring people on here, I'm so sorry of you've already read my threads with debate around Evangeline already 🙈 But I felt her kicking today for the FIRST TIME and suddenly felt like 'I must have a name for you!' Very hormonal no doubt. This is the shortlist, Juno is new.
DP likes Lilias and Evangeline best, I like Evangeline least because of the shortenings.
Gawd, I'm a broken record...

Everley sounds nice, but somehow doesn't feel like a real name :s

(I love Juniper, but DP hates it so..🙈)

Love Juno. Love Laurel.

Greggers2017 · 22/12/2019 22:34

@CassandrasCastle but what you're doing is dismissing the previous posters comment about the child being called ass, lily-ass will get picked up on. It's like Tammy being called Tammy Tampax etc. I went to school with a girl who's initial spelt STD. So it's not just names it's initials

Greggers2017 · 22/12/2019 22:34

Unfortunately Kids can be very cruel

Poorolddaddypig · 22/12/2019 23:13

Love Juno! Don’t like the others

Astronica · 22/12/2019 23:21

I think 3 of them are good names: Juno, Lilias and Evangeline (I like them in that order). I really dislike Laurel.

Junobug · 22/12/2019 23:26

Juno is my favourite. I would have used it for my dd but stupidly named the dog it first.
I think Evangeline is a beautiful name but a real shame when it gets shortened to Evie.

NameChangedNoImagination · 23/12/2019 03:14

Love Laurel and Juno.

MiniGuinness · 23/12/2019 03:27

My parents are VERY Christian, and despite loving Juno myself, I feel like it might upset them somehow...oh dear
I don’t understand this..?

MrsBertBibby · 23/12/2019 06:51

Lilias is great. Bullying is not inevitable, and you never know what bullies will pick on, so beyond the obvious Richard Heads and Michael Hunts, it seems daft to bin a good name for that reason.

Juno is nice.
Evangeline is whiny and precious and ugly to my ear.
Laurel is dowdy and drippy.

BoomZahramay · 23/12/2019 07:18

Evangeline is by far the nicest. Also like Angeline.
The others are meh.

What about Julianna as the first name?

Waitingforadulthood · 23/12/2019 08:06

There's a lily that gets called lily willy in my dc school. Add ass onto the end of her name and they'd have a field day.

I like juno and laurel myself

CassandrasCastle · 23/12/2019 08:32

@Greggers2017 I'm not being dismissive, I am saying there are many reasons why children will bully another. In my opinion Lilias is not a cruel name to give a child. How many flipping Lilys are there? And one gets called Lily willy - oh well, call it all off and name her Jane; except she'll be called Jane the pain (sorry thats lame..ha! Fuck that's bad) forever. Unless a name is obviously cruel like Dick Head, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to take on all the criticism re. 'children's name calling'.
I've also heard from posters with good experiences re. the name Lilias, just like I got on ok with Lou

Juno is a Roman goddess - my parents would probably find it a bit heathen of me

CassandrasCastle · 23/12/2019 08:35

I'm sorry you seemed to go to school with so many children cruelly bullied for their names and initials Greggs :(

I love Evangeline and Juno is cute.

missmouse101 · 23/12/2019 08:36

Lilias sounds like a sani pad to me. Laurel is gorgeous.

LynetteScavo · 23/12/2019 08:40

Juno Eveangeline

But I also like Liliana

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 23/12/2019 08:41

I like Juno the rest I’m not so keen on.

WaterSheep · 23/12/2019 08:41

Having never heard of the name Lilias before I would think it was pronounced Lily- ass.

I much prefer Evangeline and Juno, but also think Juliana would be a lovely first name.

CassandrasCastle · 23/12/2019 09:19

Well it's not pronounced Lily-ass :) I didn't just make the name up to be mean either, it is the Scottish form of LIlian, and has (very distant)family connections

To be fair OP you asked for opinions and you've got them. If you are set on Lillias then just call her that. Stop going on lol. In answer to the OP I love Evangeline. I begrudge saying that as i want a daughter called that and don't want to set off a trend lol

averythinline · 23/12/2019 10:10

it woudl be prounced lily ass where i live..... not scotland..

Evangeline is a bit of a mouthful....

how about using each in turn whilst a bump.... I called Ds a number of things - mainly jack....... didnt use it as his name though...but did tryout a good few choices.......

Juno probably fave of that list...again Laurel seems a bit 'plain' but not sure why....

CassandrasCastle · 23/12/2019 10:46

I think there are quite a bunch of little north-London Evangelines already@ Jj2431 - afraid we're not the first Xmas Shock
