It's my middle name I love it

rubyismyworld · 17/12/2019 18:14

Love it!
But I only like it pronounced ‘Anast-asia as opposed to Ana-stay-zee-a

AnFiadhRuaRua · 17/12/2019 18:15

I like it but realistically it's too long for every day use so ask yourself if you like ''Ana''
I know one, and whilst we all know her name is Anastasia and it's on fb, and her email, everybody calls her Ana.

SoftBlocks · 17/12/2019 18:18

I like it. You can use Ana as a nickname. Nice.

FizzyGreenWater · 17/12/2019 18:40

Nice but I would just go for Anna, much more elegant.

Omashu · 17/12/2019 18:42

I really love it 🙂 dp vetoed very quickly though when I mentioned it.

granadagirl · 17/12/2019 18:44

Niece is called this and now at aged 6 she gets called Ana

Bjorksswandress · 17/12/2019 18:44

Sunshine1239 · 17/12/2019 18:45

Oblomov19 · 17/12/2019 18:57

My favourite girls name. I met one once.

Elise was my favourite name aswell.

But I had 2 ds's !! Grin

daisypond · 17/12/2019 19:05

I really like it. But as a Russian name, it’s pronounced differently to how you might expect, and the short form is Nastya, which isn’t great in English. But I think the way(s) we pronounce it here are standard now.

Thetimetravelerswife · 17/12/2019 19:35

I love it

bridgetreilly · 17/12/2019 21:05

I think it's lovely. Ana makes a good shortened form, but I don't think there's any reason to say it can't be her everyday name. Plenty of people have long names that they don't shorten.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 17/12/2019 21:14

I love it but I can't stand the British mispronunciations (ana-stay-sha or ana-star-zi-ya). It's pronounced in Russian ana-STASS-si-ya.

flippinehh · 17/12/2019 21:16

Not keen for various reasons. Too long, a bit of a mouth full, and quite a 'hard' sounding name.

Spied · 17/12/2019 21:21

Lovely.

Dyra · 17/12/2019 21:29

Very pretty name. I like it.

Juanbablo · 17/12/2019 21:33

I love it.

Astronica · 17/12/2019 22:42

It's really lovely. And I like that it has lots of different options for short forms, though the full name is easy to say too.

DramaAlpaca · 17/12/2019 22:44

It's too long for me but it's certainly a beautiful name.

Poorolddaddypig · 20/12/2019 07:03

I don’t like it... it seems a bit Disney and naff to me. I KNOW it’s not just a Disney name (I’m not even sure if the movie was a Disney movie 🤔) but it’s just a bit frilly and over the top in my opinion.

macdhui · 20/12/2019 07:05

Beautiful

EssentialHummus · 20/12/2019 07:08

I really dislike it - and I have a big Russian social circle, so there are a lot of them about for me. Long and clunky for me.

BonBon411 · 20/12/2019 07:33

Gorgeous name!

FriedasCarLoad · 20/12/2019 07:34

Beautiful, unusual, and a lovely meaning.
