Hi everyone, me and my partner love the name Hallie but surname will be Haylett, is it too similar or do you think it's cute?

dottypotter · 10/12/2019 13:22

bit of a mouthful.

Wallywobbles · 10/12/2019 13:25

Yes

kjhkj · 10/12/2019 13:26

Don't do it

FuckKnowsMate · 10/12/2019 13:28

I like it, think it’s cute.
Holly is on my list of girls names and Halstead is our surname but I love it. Just rolls off the tongue. Same with your name.

Doubleraspberry · 10/12/2019 13:32

I read it and thought Hayley Hallett in my head. I think I may not be alone! So it could be a lot of correcting people in her life.

NoSauce · 10/12/2019 13:46

I like an alliteration but this is a mouthful.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/12/2019 13:56

Hayley Haylett would be quite cool.

BabloHoney · 10/12/2019 14:00

Bit of a tongue twister! Do you like Callie? Callie Haylett is less of a mouthful

percheron67 · 10/12/2019 14:13

Please don't.

Deecaff · 10/12/2019 14:19

No. ... Is it an actual name? . people will think of the comet, surely.

Omashu · 10/12/2019 15:10

@Deecaff of course it’s a real name! Have you been living under a rock? 😂 ever seen parent trap?

OP I actually love it! It’s quirky and memorable.

Thetimetravelerswife · 10/12/2019 15:12

I thought haylett was a middle name..and I initially thought...no way, too match.

As a surname it’s ok.

Though I don’t like the name hallie...but you didn’t ask that anyway!

bridgetreilly · 10/12/2019 15:23

@fuckknowsmate, I know a Holly Halstead! And I've never thought her name weird or difficult to pronounce.

Hallie Haylett, on the other hand, OP, I can't help but say Hallie Hayley every time. I think it's a bit much.

bridgetreilly · 10/12/2019 15:25

people will think of the comet, surely.

Well no, becayse the comet is Halley, not Hallie, and it's usually pronounced Hayley.

MamaDane · 10/12/2019 15:27

Ah yeah it's not nice sounding sorry.

MamaDane · 10/12/2019 15:29

But, if you love it then who cares what everyone thinks. Slap a middle name in there.

Hallie Joan Haylett e.g. Just makes it less of a mouthful

Em020497 · 10/12/2019 16:18

If we were to go with it, it would be Hallie Ellen Haylett, so breaks it up a bit

OP posts:
user1493494961 · 10/12/2019 18:13

I don't think adding Ellen breaks it up at all, sorry but it's still a mouthful.

percheron67 · 10/12/2019 18:28

Horsey folk will think of Hallie Haynet.

DivGirl · 10/12/2019 18:35

Don't do it. Your child will have to live with this name at least until she's old enough to legally change it.

Cbeebiesrehab · 10/12/2019 19:56

Bit extreme @DivGirl it might be a bit of a mouthful but hardly a burden to live with.

I think it’s ok OP, bit tongue twistery but definitely heard much worse. I like Hallie.

LoonyLunaLoo · 10/12/2019 21:47

I also read Hayley. I don’t think the middle name helps as no one ever uses their middle name.

StCharlotte · 10/12/2019 21:59

Hallie Ellen Haylett (even if used in full) certainly doesn't break it up. Waaaay too many L's!

ParsleyPot · 10/12/2019 22:21

Just no

VanyaHargreeves · 10/12/2019 22:24

Teasing ahoy I would think
