WDYT?

Cecily Violet
Penelope Violet
Esme/Esmée Violet
Violet Esme/Esmée

Violet is after my husband’s late gran. We have a 3 year old called Aurora Lillian. Lillian, her middle name, also being an honour.

Penelope Violet.

SundayMorningSun · 27/11/2019 19:56

I think Penelope is the nicest, and goes very well with Aurora.

Leopardprintboots · 27/11/2019 19:58

Love all your names except Cecily.
It’s just got a horrid harsh S sound to it and sounds too like Silly. I have a relative who I adore with this name and even knowing her hasn’t made me feel differently about the name.

Imagine saying “that’s ceceil’s coat” for example. The extra S at the end makes it sound even worse.

Violet and other names are lovely and I love the family connection

KateFoster · 27/11/2019 19:59

Penelope but Cecily is cute too though!

Sexnotgender · 27/11/2019 20:00

Penelope Violet

PixieN · 27/11/2019 20:04

Esme Violet is lovely, but Penelope would be sweet shortened to Penny.

EleanorReally · 27/11/2019 20:06

would you actually Use the middle name?

I like Cecily, its unusual

LizzyMargaret · 27/11/2019 20:10

@ EleanorReally Will we use her first and middle name to address her? No. I’ve just included them for opinions on what combo works best.

thanks op.
I like Violet also

How about Cecelia?

LizzyMargaret · 27/11/2019 20:15

@EleanorReally Cecilia was on the list. It was actually first on the list then Cecily came later. We had comments that it was a bit much with Aurora on my last thread. I see the issue with the -a endings.

Love them all except Penelope. It's harsh sounding to me.

Mammyloveswine · 27/11/2019 20:18

I know a cecily and she gets cece!

LizzyMargaret · 27/11/2019 20:18

@ Mammyloveswine Cece is sweet!

DramaAlpaca · 27/11/2019 20:20

Penelope or Cecily would be my choice.

KatyaK · 27/11/2019 20:21

I like Penelope and Esme (and like the combo with Violet). Not keen on Cecily but agree Cece is cute!

Changedname81 · 27/11/2019 20:21

Penelope is lush but I don’t like Penny as a shortening
I also like Violet in its own right

LarkDescending · 27/11/2019 20:40

Cecily Violet for me.

AdelaideK · 27/11/2019 20:42

I like Violet best. Not fussed on Penelope.

Thetimetravelerswife · 27/11/2019 21:23

I like violet the best too.

Or Cecilia.

CravingCheese · 27/11/2019 21:23

Penelope Violet is gorgeous.

Thatnovembernight · 27/11/2019 21:27

I like Penelope best

FreshHorizons · 28/11/2019 06:54

Cecily Violet

OhTheRoses · 28/11/2019 07:02

Three lovely first names and hard to chose between them. I know lovely Pennys who are 60+ always shortened. DD knows two Cecilys gorgeous girls (she's 21), all the Esmes are under 10.

RainbowMum11 · 28/11/2019 07:07

Aurora & Esme sounds like a lot of vowels.
All others are lovely though, I think it's really special to have family names as middle names.

RoseMartha · 28/11/2019 07:08

Violet Esme
