Hello beautiful people!

My partner and I are expecting our first child, a girl, December 26th. We are both very fond of the names I have listed below however we aren’t sure either of them is ‘the one’. We would love to hear your opinions/suggestions. She will take my partners surname which starts with C and is easy to match with names.

Thanks in advance xx

Names:
Aneska
Davina
Emeraude
Geneva
Jemima
Persephone
Tallulah

Only Jemima for me from the list, although I love the name Emerald. Not heard of Emeraude.

Omashu · 23/11/2019 13:02

I like Geneva and Jemima

MikeUniformMike · 23/11/2019 13:03

Aneska - not heard or seen it before.Might generate comments like What is an Eska?
Davina - ok but makes me think of the tv celebrity
Emeraude - not sure. A bit too much like Emma Road?
Geneva - place name. No.
Jemima - like it a lot
Persephone - nice but a bit long.
Tallulah - nice

I'd pick Jemima.

Thetimetravelerswife · 23/11/2019 13:03

I like the name Persephone.

TheBeesKnee · 23/11/2019 13:04

Geneva

Ikeameatballs · 23/11/2019 13:06

Davina or Jemima for me.

GeoffreyAndBungle · 23/11/2019 13:09

I only like Tallulah from your list.

Emeraude is French for emerald isn't it? Prefer Emerald.

PsychosonicCindy · 23/11/2019 13:13

Davina is my favourite of your choices by a long way, it's a beautiful, elegant name.

DramaAlpaca · 23/11/2019 14:24

Jemima is OK I suppose, and maybe Davina. The rest are a definite no.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 23/11/2019 14:38

I like Jemima and I’m strangely drawn to Geneva too.

MrsBertBibby · 23/11/2019 14:45

Not keen on your list but Tallulah is the worst. Please don't call her that, it's definitely into stripper territory.

Nina
Astrid
Edith
Marjolaine

Aneska - never heard of this. I prefer Anoushka which is a really pretty name
Davina - I really dislike this
Emeraude - will always always be having to correct everyone who calls her Emerald. Which will be everyone.
Geneva - not keen
Jemima - lovely
Persephone - ok
Tallulah - don't like at all

Jemima is my favourite from your list but I really like Anoushka.

MrsFionaCharming · 23/11/2019 16:58

I really like Aneska, though I think most people will only have heard it from Jane the Virgin where she’s a villain.

What do you think of Petra?

user1493494961 · 23/11/2019 20:50

Jemima OK, the rest are awful.

MarshaBradyo · 23/11/2019 20:51

Jemima is my favourite don’t shorten it to Jem though

LarkDescending · 23/11/2019 20:52

Jemima is lovely, and I really like pp’s suggestion of Anoushka.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 23/11/2019 20:56
