Has a sister, Eliza, and love the names Fraser and Evan. Which would work better? And is Evan a bit more popular? Toughest decision as both seem nice. Think Fraser is a mouthful next to Eliza, so shall we play it safe? Sorry, this will be my last!!!

Neither.

With Eliza I would consider

Henry
Arthur
Oscar
James
Edward
Jasper
Louis
George
Peter
Oliver
Tom
William
Felix
Rupert

IckleBear · 17/11/2019 08:57

Don't like either with Eliza
Eliza and Magnus
Eliza and Rufus
Eliza and Felix
Eliza and Jack
Eliza and Luca

feelingsinister · 17/11/2019 09:34

Rufus is lovely and so is Jasper,

AngelaDevon · 17/11/2019 09:53

Thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately I'm not keen on many of those simply because they feel like a bit of a trend. I know lots of Felix's and Rufus's in the area, and dont want a common name. I really am searching for a classy yet uncommonly used name. This is difficult! Still think Fraser is lovely! Can imagine calling him Fray, or Fraze. X

Ernest

MissHenty · 17/11/2019 09:56

Hate Fraser sorry

Evan is a gorgeous name and sounds perfect with Eliza

NoSauce · 17/11/2019 09:58

James, George, William, Edward are classics. They won’t date. Fraze is terrible.

What about Joseph nn Joe/Joey?

Ikeameatballs · 17/11/2019 10:02

Francis
Robert (Robbie or Bertie)
Winston
Ptolemy
Rupert
Michael
Peter
Patrick
Laurence
Julian

AngelaDevon · 17/11/2019 10:06

I'm sure you said thank you for the update, lovely name, in my other post Miss Henty, but appreciate the feedback. I guess whichever name we pick for our children will be perfect for them.x

Fergus as suggested by a pp is gorgeous.

AngelaDevon · 17/11/2019 10:07

But they are dull and very common No Sauce. But thank you.

Robin
Adam
Toby
Benjamin
Leon
Joshua
James
Thomas
Rex
Milo
Jasper
Ralph
Percy
Patrick

We have an Eliza and if we were to have a boy, we'd call him Robin or Adam. Some of the more well known names like I've listed above are actually hugely unused now, so your baby boy will probably have a better chance of having a more unusual name for the time, by giving him a more well known one. Rather than trying to find a less common name that is likely to become a new trend.

AngelaDevon · 17/11/2019 10:08

Ernest and Laurence were contenders but surname begins with 'Sh'. Thank you everyone for your ideas!

OP, if it helps, I know two Frazers, one is 7 and one is about 45, and they are both know just as Frazer. One of them is known by his school friends by a nickname based on his surname.

Selfsettlingat3 · 17/11/2019 10:24

Fraser. I came across too many ‘odd’ Evans when I was teaching.

BadBadBeans · 17/11/2019 10:25

I think Fraser is gorgeous. Don't be put off by people on here - if you love it, go for it! I think it goes better with Eliza.

BlouseAndSkirt · 17/11/2019 10:27

Jacob
Cosmo
Sebastian
Benjamin
Abe
Monty
Hugo
Jake
Leon
Leo

saywhatwhatnow · 17/11/2019 10:27

Fraser is lovely and massively underused. Evan is not my cup of tea.

AngelaDevon · 17/11/2019 10:35

Thank you so so much for the positive responses! It is a very difficult thing to name the most precious person we will ever meet! I do love Fraser, but I guess I'm on here because I'm uncertain about the similarity with Eliza. People will have to get used to it I think!

@AngelaDevon did I 🤣 🤦‍♀️
Will go back and check. I’m really sorry!
Either name will be fab 😬😆

MrsBertBibby · 17/11/2019 10:49

I think you were being polite since the OP said she'd decided on Fraser.

Chewbecca · 17/11/2019 10:54

I don’t think you need to worry too much about the ‘matchiness’ with your DD, before long they will be going off in the world in their own right on no longer be sibling +. More important that DS’s name stands well in its own right.

I do love the name Laurence and wonder if Angus or Alistair would suit if you’re looking for a Scottish feel?

MissHenty · 17/11/2019 10:58

I have been known to flip flop on names so I wouldn’t put it past me to have had a change of heart! Sorry OP! My own sons name I used to really hate and suddenly loved it and named my child it 🤣
I’ve started liking the names Peter and Paul recently, I don’t know if you’re keen on any names like that OP? They’ve very rare these days

MissHenty · 17/11/2019 11:02

I just looked back at one of your threads OP and I said that I didn’t think Fraser went with Eliza

I’d like to expand on that and just say I don’t think it matters at all if names “go together” or not. They’re 2 individuals anyway

Evanna13 · 17/11/2019 21:33

Fraser is lovely but you will say the two names together a lot!!They are fine together though.
Evan is lovely too.
I imagine Eliza paired with Tom, Edwin, John, Benjamin
