My SIL named her dd Primrose. She NEVER gets called Primrose, she's always Prim. So it depends if you mind that shortening. Personally, I really don't like it.

Sleepyquest · 06/11/2019 10:29

I love it but my DH doesn't :(
Use it!! Because I can't

Orchidflower1 · 06/11/2019 10:30

I like it but I know one who gets called prim too.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 06/11/2019 11:26

I like. Yes I like it the more I say it. Go for it! Can be shortened to Prim, Rosy, Primmy. Definitely got potential

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 06/11/2019 11:30

It’s one of my favourite names. I’d use it, I like the shortenings. But in my house everyone goes by there given name really 🙂

Primrose Grace
Primrose Dawn
Primrose Eliza
Primrose Cordelia
Primrose Helena

Yes I love it. I also like Marigold.

daisypond · 06/11/2019 11:32

I love it. It’s from prima rosa, first rose.

poppet31 · 06/11/2019 11:42

I do like it but it makes me think of the hunger games.

MrsBertBibby · 06/11/2019 14:03

Prim is awful.

There are much nicer flower names.

Iris is the best.

lvra · 06/11/2019 14:40

I have a primrose! She is 5. When we told our families we were going to call her primrose they didn't like the name but it definitely grew on them!

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/11/2019 14:41

Really like it!

Justwatchthewildflowersgrow · 06/11/2019 15:25

Thanks everyone.

We are 95% set on this as her name (we even like the shortenings) but its the middle name we are struggling with we dont know whether it should be long or short.

My personal favourite is Primrose Beatrice but I'm on the fence that is too much of a mouthful or if it should be something shorter.

How many syllables is your surname OP?

Leopardprintboots · 06/11/2019 15:53

@Justwatchthewildflowersgrow doesn’t matter if it’s a mouthful (it isn’t) because how often do you ever say your full name?! Hardly ever! I don’t know most of my friends’ middle names

Justwatchthewildflowersgrow · 06/11/2019 16:12

@CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook our surmname is 2 syllables so mid length.

@Leopardprintboots good point although I do bring out the full name for my other daughter when shes being particularly naughty.

Gorgeous name! Go for it!

diddlediddle · 06/11/2019 16:56

I think a one syllable middle name goes better but it doesn't really matter. Primrose is nice.
