I love this name but no one I know has heard of it.

Pronounced Fair-a-lin

All I can hear is 'ferrel'. Sorry!

Winterdaysarehere · 31/10/2019 10:34

Grin

rosewils · 31/10/2019 10:34

Sounds like a medication.

FrappeLatte · 31/10/2019 10:35

Sounds like some kind of medicine Confused

haverhill · 31/10/2019 10:35

It sounds too much like feral.

Dinosauraddict · 31/10/2019 10:35

I know a Ferryn (fair-in)...

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 10:35

I immediately thought “brake pads” I have no idea why.

OverByYer · 31/10/2019 10:36

Sounds like an iron supplement. Awful.

RaininSummer · 31/10/2019 10:36

Not heard of it before. Not keen. It reminds me of a product to treat rust.

IDrinkAndISewThings · 31/10/2019 10:37

Hmm, not sure on that one, due to the feral/ferrous connotations. I do know someone called Fairleigh though, which I think is lovely

1066vegan · 31/10/2019 10:38

Sounds like some kind of supplement. I guess it's a made up name. Where did you hear it?

CaptainCaveMum · 31/10/2019 10:39

Looks too much like feral, ferret and ferritin
If you like the sound, how about Farahlyn?

Limer · 31/10/2019 10:39

Midwich Cuckoos

Mollpop · 31/10/2019 10:40

Sounds like an iron tablet

Sexnotgender · 31/10/2019 10:40

Sounds like a medication.

My first thought too.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 31/10/2019 10:41

Yes, it sounds like something you would take if you were anaemic.

Its a no from me.

daisypond · 31/10/2019 10:50

Not one I’ve heard of. Vera Lynn?

Clangus00 · 31/10/2019 10:56

No.
Just no.
It is a name (I googled) but it’s hideous.

Queenoftheashes · 31/10/2019 10:58

I thought midwich cuckoos too! Only place I’ve seen it.

frogsbreath · 31/10/2019 11:01

I thought it was a medication something to do with ferritin

IdblowJonSnow · 31/10/2019 11:03

No!!!
Sorry OP. Bet you wish you hadn't asked! Snorting at some of the above! Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/10/2019 11:04

I saw Ferret as soon as I read that

Pinkflipflop85 · 31/10/2019 11:05

Another one here who thought it was the name of a medication!

yellowallpaper · 31/10/2019 11:05

It's the name of one of the women in The Midwich Cuckoos. It's really grown on me. It's my DSister wondering about it and asked my opinion. I'm done with babies!

SleepingStandingUp · 31/10/2019 11:06

Sounds like fertility medication, sorry.

However if you like it, once you introduce people to your daughter as it, they'll lose the other associations with it and think of cit just as her name
