Which one seems more feminine?

Neither. It's quite a chav.

Frazzled2207 · 27/10/2019 14:36

Neither. But Harley is a lot better than Harleigh. Slightly.

Grammar · 27/10/2019 14:37

I really, really don't like either.

Eleanorbellanor · 27/10/2019 14:41

Both are awful

MoonGeek · 27/10/2019 14:43

No

Pinkblueberry · 27/10/2019 14:46

Neither is more feminine - it’s pretty well known as boy’s name and replacing what is commonly y or ey with a eigh makes anyone look like they have parents who think they’re being clever and wanted to make a name more cutesy/feminine/unique but failed miserably...

aibutohavethisusername · 27/10/2019 14:51

Harley

ZenNudist · 27/10/2019 14:56

Have you considered Harrrrghley?

Or HRLI?

Or just invent a symbol meaning they name you choose?

SerafinaPekkola · 27/10/2019 15:10

Harringay?

Miljah · 27/10/2019 16:20

Does 'Harley' appear on the teachers' official 'naughty' names list?? 😂

Bet it does!

GrapefruitGin · 27/10/2019 16:23

Awful name, sorry. Would work for a 4 year old but not for a 34 year old professional who would want people to take them seriously.

MikeUniformMike · 27/10/2019 17:41

I'd pick another name.
Harleigh is awful.

emeraldno5 · 27/10/2019 18:02

Not a fan. I find it very chavy (no, I'm not old) I also know a female 'Harlie' who isn't very nice, which probably influences my opinion.

Harley is a great name. I almost gave it to ds1 and would still shortlist it 11years later. Oh and I dont immediately think of motorbikes either but for a girl, i would think Harley Quinn especially with the new movie coming out soon. But as I love Harley Quinn, that wouldn't be a turn off.

duckling84 · 27/10/2019 19:36

Theres loads of unisex names which are more girl heavy - Morgan, Paris, Madison, Darcey, Hilary. Those are just off the top of my head, so it does work both ways

HairyToity · 27/10/2019 19:40

I prefer Hallie.

SaveTheTreesPlease · 06/11/2019 01:23

Def not Harleigh!

Harley is slightly better but I have a name that could be a boy’s name and constantly get “dear sir...” etc. Not necessarily a problem but something to consider.

I also think either will put her in a certain social bracket (I don’t like the term “chavvy” as names like Octavia, Hector, etc do exactly the same thing as they’re similarly tied to a particular social class). I personally tried to choose names that were relatively class-neutral for my kids (not everyone’s cup of tea though, I realise!)

Not 'cool as fuck', maybe 'chav as fuck'.
