I like it and in all the years working in Primary I have never come across it.

I liked Elizabeth for dd, but planned the nickname 'Bess'. Didn't use it in the end, however. Betsy is also pretty.

I think Elizabeth is better and then she can choose her own shortened version.
Although, they could choose a different version to Betsy like liz, betty, Eliza etc.

I'm due in a few weeks and it's going to be our DD's middle name (a close relative of DP shared the same name so has meaning), I love it

Sorry that name has been already taken. She is an Elizabeth on her birth cert, so she can change her mind when she grows up a bit more. It does get misspelled as Besty on occasion!

I know 2. One is 11 and the other a toddler. I think it's gaining in popularity.
