What are people's opinions? Just curious.. was suggested by a family member, I quite like it, I think 😂

Nice, but short for something? Elizabeth?

Bowerbird5 · 23/10/2019 16:32

I like it and in all the years working in Primary I have never come across it.

daisypond · 23/10/2019 17:23

I like it but only if short for Elizabeth.

Alwaysrainsonme · 23/10/2019 17:23

Lovely

Dino44 · 23/10/2019 17:34

I don’t like it. Somehow manages to feel overly cutesy yet frumpy at the same time.

Elizabeth is much nicer.

MrsBungle · 23/10/2019 17:35

I don’t like it. It’s too cutesy/babyish to me.

gerbo · 23/10/2019 17:39

I liked Elizabeth for dd, but planned the nickname 'Bess'. Didn't use it in the end, however. Betsy is also pretty.

Spied · 23/10/2019 17:40

I love it

bakesalesally · 23/10/2019 17:58

Love it

Drabarni · 23/10/2019 18:01

Lovely, but people will think she's Elizabeth.
I think Elizabeth is better and then she can choose her own shortened version.
Although, they could choose a different version to Betsy like liz, betty, Eliza etc.

OooErMissus · 23/10/2019 18:02

Would you want it as your actually, given name?

I definitely wouldn't, and that's always my benchmark.

RosieandFin · 23/10/2019 18:38

I like it as a name by itself, never even knew it was a nn for Elizabeth.

spice3 · 23/10/2019 18:40

Too twee for me, sorry.

Frith2013 · 23/10/2019 18:55

An excellent name for a small rabbit.

SoftBlocks · 23/10/2019 18:56

No.

theydontknowweknow · 23/10/2019 18:58

I'm due in a few weeks and it's going to be our DD's middle name (a close relative of DP shared the same name so has meaning), I love it

elephantoverthehill · 23/10/2019 18:59

Sorry that name has been already taken. She is an Elizabeth on her birth cert, so she can change her mind when she grows up a bit more. It does get misspelled as Besty on occasion!

maras2 · 23/10/2019 19:04

Too twee.
Bessie's nicer.

PrudenceTremaine · 23/10/2019 19:05

Heavens to Betsy

Betty nicer imo.

Perunatop · 23/10/2019 19:09

I cannot imagine a professional adult woman called Betsy.

snappylemon · 23/10/2019 19:52

I love it, Betsy is so cute. I've met a few adult women who go by Betsy professionally too.

Drabarni · 23/10/2019 19:55

She might not want to be a professional woman, it's not compulsory Grin

HatingTheBigShow · 23/10/2019 20:43

I'm planning on Betsy as a middle name for #2

VanessaShanessaJenkins · 23/10/2019 20:45

I know 2. One is 11 and the other a toddler. I think it's gaining in popularity.

Inlovewitharagorn · 23/10/2019 20:56

I really like it.
